The ultimate Bali travel guide with kids 7-10 years old

At this age, your kids will remember all the magical moments experienced together on holiday. A holiday to Bali with kids from 7 to 10 years old will be unforgettable! There are endless things to do, beautiful sceneries, and mystical rituals to witness. On top of that, you get to stay in a fabulous private villa where you can spend undisturbed quality time together and have lots of fun in the swimming pool. This is our ultimate guide to travel to Bali with kids from 7 to 10 years old:

Is Bali a good place to visit with kids?

We can be short and sweet: YES! Bali is great for families! The island is beautiful and diverse, not too big or too small. The locals are very welcoming and they absolutely love children. There is lots to do and many perfect family villas for you to reside at. You can base yourself in one spot and explore the island on fun day trips or you choose to spend a week in the busy south of Bali and another week in the quieter east, north, or west of the island. Either way, you are in for tropical beaches, waterfalls, Balinese temples, and all sorts of activities and attractions.

Getting around in Bali with kids

Bali has shuttle buses, Gojek drivers, and Grab cars, there are reliable taxi companies in the main tourist towns (look for Blue Bird) but the most convenient way of getting around is by private car and driver. It’s not expensive and when travelling with kids, it is super handy to have a car and chauffeur stand by when you need it. When staying at a villa, a private driver is easily arranged. Most likely airport pick-up and drop-off are already included with your stay, saving you the hassle of dealing with all the taxi drivers at the airport. Do ask your travel concierge about what’s included and what’s not. He or she can also help you to book a driver. Grab Car and Uber are handy for short trips but they are banned in popular areas such as Canggu and Uluwatu. Blue Bird Taxis are metered taxis and they are easy to find in places like Seminyak and Ubud. You can also opt to book a driver for certain days of your holiday to Bali so you can go on full-day tours.

Where and what to eat

The locals like to eat rice or noodles with veggies, meat, and fish. The local eateries are called “warungs” and it’s where you will find authentic Balinese food, fresh and cheap. However, when traveling with kids in a foreign country, eating out and trying local food can be challenging. There is no need to worry though, in busy tourist towns and even quieter towns, you will find all kinds of restaurants serving Italian food (always easy with kids!), Mexican, Mediterranean, Indian, American, Chinese – you name it! There are family-friendly restaurants with playgrounds on-site and amazing beach clubs serving international cuisine. When staying at a villa you will have a private kitchen where you can prepare something familiar for difficult eaters or prepare a quick easy lunch. You can also get the staff to prepare it for you. There is no need to worry about your kids getting hungry, that’s for sure.

You can feed them, take selfies, and watch them hang around. It’s a fun place to visit with kids!

  • Wake Park

Bali Wake Park is the place to go wakeboarding, knee boarding, waterskiing, and surfing. It is located in the Bennoa Harbour and a trip to this place guarantees thrilling family experiences.

  • The Devdan Show

For an evening of Bali magic, do not miss out on the Devdan Show at Nusa Dua Theatre. Also known as the “Cirque du Soleil of Bali” ” the Devdan Show combines music, dance, acrobatics, lights, fire, and beautiful costumes. You will be taken on a journey across the Indonesian Archipelago during this high-energy performance that’ll entertain the whole family.
