Translating our words into actions

Moving an inch towards our eco-friendly mission, GECO project was launched and we translated our words to actions for the very first three villas (Villa Sajak, Villa Kuning and Villa Jeruk) in our GECO movement! It was an extremely exciting day for us to witness the green change in our villas after months of preparations, sourcing for the right partners to work with, doing intense research… and we would like to share this significant day with you! 🙂

10:00 a.m. Any questions about GECO?

Our GECO project manager, Agnes, gathered the villas staff and gave an introduction of GECO project to assist villas staff during the transition and explain the importance of them playing an active part in this project. We were glad to see how concerned the villa staff were.

11:00 a.m. Replace plastic bags with reusable bags #Toocoolforplastic

Agnes, our GECO project manager, brought the Tas Pasar reusable bags we have produced with the help of Keep Bali Clean and distributed them to the villa staff.  The staff of Villa Sajak, Villa Kuning and Villa Jeruk said goodbye to plastic bags!

11:30 a.m. Where should this rubbish go?

Our partner, Eco-Bali, who is involved in our GECO movement, came over and gave a proper waste management training to our villas staff. Bins were provided and staff were given clear and detailed instructions on how to sort their waste in the future.

Starting with these few simple and specific actions that can be easily incorporated by our villas, we hope to make a change and play our part in Bali’s environmental issues. We are thrilled with the overwhelming positive response from villa owners and we are looking forward to more villas joining us. Learn more about this project here.
