Celebrating Christmas in Bali 2013

Another year flies by quickly, and the best festive season of the year is just round the corner! Christmas in Bali is certainly no winter wonderland, but there are plenty of ways to celebrate this wonderful season, let us give you just a couple of ideas.

1. Fix up a traditional Christmas meal in your own villa

Christmas is often an excuse to feast on plenty of traditional Christmas offerings. We can almost hear the pies, cakes, roast turkey and marinated ham calling out to us… Grandma’s home cooking could be more of a delicious dream than reality right now, but never fear!

You can certainly recreate some of your favourite dishes right here in Bali. If you are staying in a villa for Christmas, you can be sure that your villa chef will happily work with you to recreate a truly memorable and lavish Christmas feast. You simply pick out the menu, and voilà, the staff will shop, cook and serve a magnificent spread for you to enjoy in the privacy of your own villa, surrounded by your loved ones. All you pay is cost price of the ingredients, which can save you a pretty penny during a festive season like this when prices are all inflated.

P.S They save you the hassle of washing up afterwards too!

You can also cook up a storm if you wish!  Head to the Bali Deli for some ingredients that may be hard to procure on Bali Island. If like me, you can’t cook, and are getting a little desperate for a Christmas treat, drop by the Bali Bakery for some of their beautiful cakes, or sweet and savoury pastries for your own little party.

2. Splurge on a fancy Christmas dinner

If you feel like treating yourself and loved ones to a fancy Christmas celebration, look no further than to some of Bali’s fine restaurants. Plenty of elegant restaurants have special Christmas set menus and celebrations that you can join in. An example would be the St Regis Hotel or The Laguna Resort in Nusa Dua, which offers a whole range of Christmas specials, from afternoon tea to a dinner buffet, with festive treats such as a Valrhona Chocolate fountain, Christmas pudding, Christmas carolling and visits from Santa!

For a ‘Christmas in the Tropics’ experience, head over to one of Bali’s many beach clubs such as Ku De Ta and Cocoon Beach club. The chefs over there have prepared a delectable spread of Christmas classics with a twist! Enjoy good food, followed by a dip in the pool and a day out in the sun. Truly a tropical Christmas experience.

3. Party it up in Bali

Christmas is a joyous season, and everyone is out partying it up! The Hardrock cafe invites you to a sumptuous buffet dinner and then to rock the night away with none other than the Soul Man, Carlton J. Smith, live on 24th December.

Kids are not forgotten! The Cubby House Kids Club is hosting its own children’s party on 22nd December from 1-5pm and will include plenty of good food, drinks and games for the little ones.

 4. Spread the Christmas Cheer

There are definitely innumerable ways to enjoy yourself on Bali Island at Christmas, with plenty of good food, parties, celebrations and concerts. Do take time to remember the true meaning of Christmas as a time to share and give.

Join Hotel Tugu in spreading the Christmas cheer with children at the orphanage. Make a child’s dream come true by purchasing their dream gift for them, or donating and allowing Hotel Tugu to purchase it on your behalf.

The team at Villa-Bali.com wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas, and a blessed time of gathering with your loved ones!
