Your Bali Packing List- 8 must-haves

Packing for your dream vacation need not be tedious- if you know exactly what you need! We give you a heads up on Bali essentials.

1. Light, cool clothing

Leave those woolly sweaters behind, the tropical sunshine of Bali will smack you in the face the moment you arrive. Shopping in Bali can be relatively cheap, and you can probably pick up a few more items whilst you’re there,  so don’t over pack your clothes. Light, loose cotton clothing are probably best for exploring most of Bali unless you have some extreme sports planned for your trip.

More modest clothing is required for temple visits, but you can buy a sarong from stalls in Bali.

2. Slippers for the beach! Shoes for the mountains!

Depending on your itinerary, remember your flip flops if you intend to be a beach bunny, or your sturdy hiking shoes if you may want to climb Gunung Agung.

3. Waterproof case for gadgets

This will be very useful for those who can’t live without their gadgets. If you must take them along with you, you’d better put them in waterproof cases to keep them safe whilst you enjoy the beach, or explore the lakes. Echo Design clear cases are specially designed so you can use them whilst they are safe and dry inside.

4. Sunblock

Please don’t forget your sunblock if you intend to take part in many outdoor activities. The sun definitely poses a threat. Enjoy the sun without suffering the painful peel of sunburn. Apply your sunscreen!

5. Mosquito repellent

Especially if you are venturing out into the Balinese countryside, take along you insect repellent. Don’t let mozzie bites keep you up all night for the wrong reasons. Alternatively, get some in Bali, Autan is a particularly favoured brand. Cheap and good.

6. Adaptor

Bali uses 2 pin plugs, so check if you may need to bring along an adaptor to charge up your beloved iphone or camera.

7. Extra memory cards

With the number of opportunities for pictures in Bali, do bring along a few spare memory cards so that you can capture all those picture perfect moments that are too beautiful to leave behind. Buying them in Bali might be more expensive than at home.

8. Skincare

If you are a stickler for skincare, you might want to bring enough supplies of your own. The Balinese concept of beauty is to be fair and white, and many of their skincare products include whitening elements, much to the dismay of some visitors who prefer to be bronzed and tanned. If you need your self tanning lotion, its a safer bet to bring your own.
