Legian Villas with Private Pool for Your Holiday

Legian, located just north of the very popular Kuta, seamlessly blends into the neighbouring district without any real geographical boundaries separating the two. Like Kuta, Legian offers bountiful dining, shopping and vibrant beachfront establishments, but with smaller crowds and a more family-friendly vibe.

The bustling hotspots are clustered in the central areas around Jalan Melasti, Jalan Sahadewa, Jalan Padma and Jalan Padma Utara. Here you'll discover stacks of boutiques, restaurants and trendy cafes and spas - you'll be spoilt for choice! And if you fancy even more dining options, Seminyak is just a stone's throw away as the two villages are right next to each other.

If you're looking for the ideal family accommodation in Legian, a private villa ticks all the boxes. With spacious bedrooms for you and the kids, a private pool you don’t have to share with other guests, and wide living areas to lounge about, a Legian villa is the perfect base for your Balinese family holiday.

A Legian villa holiday here guarantees an unbeatable location within easy reach of loads of fantastic eateries, cool bars, buzzing boutiques and the stunning sands of Legian Beach! Whilst all the top sights in town are literally on your doorstep, your private villa paradise will provide you with the peace and quiet you need to recharge, away from the hustle and bustle.

Now that you have the best of both worlds, you can kick back and relax and really settle in to island time. Why? Because everything you need for a fantastic holiday is right outside waiting for you, and hey – you’re on vacation, so you can do whatever you want, when you want

Most Popular Areas for Villas in Legian, Bali

Since Legian is located between Kuta and Seminyak, you can really take your pick in any of these neighbourhoods, depending on what type of holiday you’re after.

Legian is quieter than Kuta and Seminyak, yet it still has plenty of restaurants, cafes, spas, and shops that you can explore. Legian villas also have the closest access to Legian Beach, with many villa properties just a short walk away from the shore. The beach is popular for relaxing, surfing, and watching the sunset. Take a stroll on the shore and you will find yourself in Double Six Beach where you can find trendy beach clubs with colourful bean bag chairs and umbrellas.

Seminyak is also a great option for families or couples who don’t mind spending a bit more for luxury. This neighbourhood offers a more upscale experience with designer boutiques, lavish spas, and fine dining restaurants spread throughout the area. The villas in Seminyak are set back further from the beach but still within easy walking distance.

If you’re on a budget, we suggest staying in Kuta. Kuta is well known for its long sandy black sand beach, lively nightlife, and budget-friendly accommodations. This area attracts many young tourists, backpackers, and surfers who come for the vibrant energy and affordable prices. There are numerous bars, nightclubs, dining establishments, and shops in the area, and it can become rather crowded, especially during peak season. However, if you’re looking for a villa for a bachelor or bachelorette’s weekend, then our villas in Kuta might be for you.

Legian, Seminyak, and Kuta all provide easy access to the many attractions across Bali. The airport, Ubud, and major tourist sites are all within 30-60 minutes by car. This makes the villas in these three areas an ideal base for exploring the island while also enjoying the amenities, beach, and restaurants close to home.

Why should families stay in a Legian Villa?

Several reasons! First off, the privacy – you'll have an entire villa to yourself with no shared facilities. That means you can leave toys and towels around the pool area, your kids can run around the garden and play without disturbing other guests, and you don’t have to wait to use the elevator to get to your room or queue for breakfast buffets.

Second, the space – your kids will get their own bedroom and you and your partner can enjoy some alone time in yours. There’s also a separate living room and dining area, just like you would have back home. Forget hotels and the cramped up feeling of being in one small room altogether.

Third, the freedom – you can come in and out of your villa anytime. You can wake up whenever you want and make breakfast in your own modern kitchen. Cook up your family’s favourite meals and have a lovely brunch outside, soaking in the nature and greenery around you. Your kids can jump in the pool anytime they want. In fact, some villas even offer floating breakfasts in the pool, a unique experience you need to try when you’re in Bali.

Fourth, the convenience – if you’re not in the mood to cook, just step outside and choose from the many restaurants and cafes around Legian. There are also plenty of convenience stores and supermarkets in the area so you can keep the fridge stocked with the kids’ snacks and supplies. The beach is walking distance too and places like Waterbom Park and the Monkey Forest are only a short drives away.

And lastly, the flexibility – you can have the villa tailored exactly to your needs. Just ask our concierge team, and we’ll help you out with whatever it is to help make your holiday stress-free. If you need a night off, we can arrange for a babysitter to come stay at the villa while you go out and have a romantic evening with your beloved. If you need a driver to take you to all the attractions in Bali, we can arrange that too. If you need party decorations for your kid’s birthday party, we can help you decorate the villa. If you need a massage and you’re too lazy to go to a spa, we can have a masseuse come to you. Whatever you need, we’ll do our absolute best to make it happen.

Why We Love to Stay in Legian

One of the biggest reasons we love Legian is the convenience and comfort it offers. The area is brimming with stylish villas that provide luxurious comfort and privacy, complete with private pools, spacious living areas, and fully equipped kitchens. They’re perfect for families and friends looking for a home-away-from-home. With easy access to beaches, shopping areas, spas, and more, everything you need is just a short stroll or drive away.

Legian is an excellent location for families seeking a tropical getaway. With its warm, laid-back, and welcoming atmosphere, families on holiday will certainly have no problem fitting in. The beautiful beaches are perfect for quality time with the kids – your little ones can explore the shoreline and play in the gentle surf while mum and dad relax in the warm sunshine. But do make sure that you only let your little ones swim in the beach when the waves are small and gentle. And make sure they stay close to shore too, so they are safe from strong currents. Safety comes first before all the fun.

After a busy morning at the beach, you have a terrific selection of dining options at your disposal in Legian. Whether you're catering to fussy eaters or foodies keen to sample local Balinese cuisine, you'll certainly find a restaurant to satisfy even the most discerning of appetites. And don’t worry, most restaurants here offer a kids menu too.

When it's time for an afternoon of adventure, Legian offers effortless access to must-see attractions that will create lifetime memories for the whole clan. Water parks, cultural sites, temples and shopping centres are all within easy reach, providing fun and education in equal measure. From exploring ancient ruins to splashing around in giant wave pools, you truly can pack a lot of excitement into a single day. It's no wonder Legian is the ideal base for families - with so much on the doorstep, you may never want to leave!
There is plenty to see and do in Legian to keep the whole family entertained. Take the little ones to Waterbom Bali Waterpark, where they can squeal with excitement on the twisting water slides. Or spend an afternoon capturing memorable photos at DMZ, an interesting 3D illusion art museum taking visitors on a tour of different destinations around the world.

For those of you who are water babies, book a surf sesh at the renowned Rip Curl School of Surf. They offer excellent facilities and lessons to help riders of all abilities catch waves. They also offer wakeboarding, kite surfing, windsurfing, stand-up paddle boarding and more.

Alternatively, you can always just relax by the beach. Legian Beach is less crowded than its neighbouring beaches, so it’s perfect for sunbathing, reading or marvelling at the scenic sunsets. When night falls, the party scene heats up with international DJs, live music and trendy beach clubs such as Azul Beach Club and Pavilion Surf. History buffs can admire the traditional architecture of Singosari Temple, built in the 13th century. Those after retail therapy will find plenty of options in Legian, from souvenir tees to unique handicrafts. Shopping areas like Merta Nadi Art Market and Jalan Legian are approximately a 15-minute drive away - your villa manager can arrange transport if needed.

If you’re in need of some princess treatment, go on a spa day and pamper yourself with a soothing Balinese massage at one of Legian's best spas including Rehat Spa and Glow Spa at Mandira. But if you prefer to relax and recharge at home, just call our concierge team, and we can also have a private masseuse come directly to you at the villa.

And of course, no trip is complete without trying out all the delectable food in your area. Enjoy a lovely dinner at Stones Kitchen, serving a selection of European and Asian dishes. Or have some avocado toast at the Brunch Club Bali. For a taste of Balinese cuisine, dine at DONBIU and enjoy a cultural show as you feast. If you want to have a special and intimate dinner with your loved ones, you can also hire a private chef to cook a delicious 5-course meal in the comforts of your own private villa.
Getting around in Legian, Bali, is quite convenient with various transportation options available. Here are some ways to navigate the area:

Car Rental with Private Driver. For families, this is the best and most convenient option. Our concierge team can help arrange a car with a private driver for you. This service offers a comfortable and personalized way to explore Legian and its surroundings.

Taxi. Taxis are easily accessible in Legian and offer a comfortable way to travel short distances or if you prefer not to walk. It's advisable to use official taxi services and agree on the fare beforehand.

Ride-Hailing Services. Apps like Grab and Gojek operate in Bali, providing a convenient alternative to traditional taxis. You can book a ride through the app for a seamless transportation experience.

Motorbike Rental. Renting a motorbike provides flexibility and freedom to roam around Legian independently. Ensure you adhere to safety measures like wearing a helmet and following traffic regulations. However, you should only do this if you already know how to drive a motorbike. Learning how to drive a motorbike in a place like Legian is very dangerous as there are a lot of vehicles.
The best time to travel to Legian, Bali, largely depends on your preferences and what you aim to experience during your visit. However, generally speaking, the dry season from April to October is considered the best time to travel to Bali. During this period, you can expect sunny days with less rainfall, ideal for outdoor activities, exploring the beaches, and enjoying the vibrant local culture.

If you prefer to avoid crowds and potentially lower prices, consider visiting during the shoulder months of April, May, June, and September. These months usually offer a good balance between favorable weather conditions and fewer tourists compared to the peak season. This is a great time for families to come and experience Bali.

On the other hand, if you are a surfer looking to catch some waves, the wet season from November to March might be suitable for you, as this period brings bigger swells to the west coast of Bali, including Legian.
Legian, Bali, is a vibrant coastal town that is part of the famous tourist destination in Indonesia. Legian's history is intertwined with the growth of tourism in Bali. Originally a small fishing village, Legian started to attract tourists looking for a more laid-back alternative to the bustling Kuta. Over the years, it has developed into a popular resort area known for its beautiful beaches, surf breaks, shops, restaurants, and nightlife.

The transformation of Legian into a tourist hotspot can be attributed to various factors, including its strategic location near Kuta and Seminyak, the development of accommodations and amenities catering to tourists, and the natural beauty of its surroundings. As more travelers discovered the charm of Legian, it grew into a sought-after destination for beach lovers and surf enthusiasts.

Today, Legian continues to draw visitors from around the world who seek a mix of relaxation, adventure, and entertainment. Whether you're looking to soak up the sun on the sandy beaches, catch some waves, shop for local handicrafts, or enjoy the vibrant nightlife, Legian offers a diverse range of experiences for every type of traveler.

Is it worth staying in Legian?

Totally! Legian has a lovely relaxed feel compared to nearby Kuta. While it has plenty of accommodation, dining and retail options, it's a bit quieter and perfect if you're travelling with the family or as a couple looking for some peace and quiet. And the great thing is you can easily pop over to Kuta if you fancy some late-night fun or want to check out what's going on. So you really do get the best of both worlds in Legian!

Is Legian or Seminyak better?

It honestly depends on what you’re after during your holiday. Legian itself has a more relaxed feel and is closer to Kuta if you prefer to experience Bali’s vibrant nightlife. Accommodations in Legian are also more affordable compared to the more upscale Seminyak. So if you’re on a budget, Legian might be a better choice to stay in, and you can just visit Seminyak to check out the ultra-chic boutiques and fine dining restaurants. However, if spending isn’t an issue, then Seminyak would also make a great base for your Bali holiday.

Can you swim at Legian Beach?

Yes – you can. But with caution! Legian Beach is much better suited for surfing because the waves break right onto the shore. When the waves are big, you’ll see surfers out in the water catching waves all day. It’s better (and safer) to watch them do their thing out there from the safety of a sun lounger in a beach bar. If you do fancy a swim, your best bet is to stick close to land at this beach. You wouldn't want to get dragged out by a rip current.

Can you surf in Legian?

Of course! Legian is known for it’s world-class waves. If you want to learn how to surf, there are numerous surf schools located in Legian. We can even arrange one for you, just ask! Whether you're a beginner or looking to improve your technique, Legian has steady surf conditions suitable for all skill levels.
