Why should families stay in a Kuta Villa?

Well, there are plenty of reasons why your family should stay in a Kuta villa. When exploring the buzzing streets of Kuta, it’s good to have a quiet and solemn place to retreat and recharge. Staying in a hotel won’t really give you that, though, as you still have to share common areas such as the lobby, pools, and lifts.

However, staying in a villa in Kuta will give you the complete privacy and escape you need – away from all the crowds. The freedom and space of a villa stay allows you to truly live it up and do things at your own pace. There are no strict meal times or checkout deadlines to worry about, meaning you and the little ones can sleep in as long as you want, enjoy a leisurely breakfast by the gorgeous pool whenever you feel like it, and explore the sights at your own speed.

And the dedicated staff at the villas will make sure everyone in the family is well looked after. You can even hire a private chef to make your little one's favourite meals if you’re not in the mood to do some cooking. Plus, with more than one bedroom, the kids can have their own space while you can take a break from all the stress that comes with travelling with the kiddos in tow. You can even hire a babysitter so you can get some "me time" alone, or with your partner – how good does that sound? We think very.

Another big bonus of having a big space is you won't have to trip over bags or feel squished in a tiny room! And best of all, you'll have the whole amazing pool all to yourselves, so you and the family can play and splash around as much as you want without worrying about strangers! A stay in a Kuta villa offers everything you could ever need to be truly living in paradise. It’s comfort and convenience at its finest.

Why I love Kuta

Kuta is all about excitement and fun with lively beaches, great waves for surfing, and a vibrant nightlife. The beach is perfect for catching some sun and meeting new people, and there are countless bars, clubs, and restaurants to explore. The shopping scene is fantastic, with plenty of markets and malls. Plus, it's a great spot for learning to surf or just enjoying the lively atmosphere. Kuta is the perfect choice if you're looking for a place that's buzzing with energy.

Why We Love to Stay in Kuta

surfing in bali

Believe it or not, Kuta is much more than its reputation as Bali’s party central. It's a fantastic base for families, groups of friends, and couples seeking a vibrant, well-rounded tropical getaway. What's not to love about a place that offers proximity to cool waterparks and indoor theme parks that will have your kids talking for months? While the kids are having the time of their lives, grown-ups can explore nearby cultural sites and ancient temples, immersing themselves in the rich Balinese culture.

And guess what? The sandy shores of Kuta Beach are just a short walk away from your villa! Whether you're taking a sunset stroll along the black sand beaches, building sandcastles with the little ones, or trying your hand at surfing, Kuta’s coastline offers plenty of fun for everyone. The sunsets are absolutely breathtaking, turning the sky into a canvas of oranges and pinks. And if you’re itching for some adrenaline, there’s no shortage of watersports to dive into.

After a day packed with adventures, Kuta's dining scene awaits, offering everything from local delicacies to international favourites. Many restaurants come with a good kids' menu, so everyone leaves happy and full. And let's not forget the shopping—whether you're hunting for souvenirs or indulging in a fashion spree, places like Beachwalk Shopping Mall and Discovery Shopping Mall have you covered. Kuta is truly a destination where adventure meets relaxation, promising an epic vacation from start to finish.

We know the word on the street is that Kuta is a destination for party-goers, and while many do come here to seek revelry in the trendy beach clubs, Kuta is in fact so much more than that. Kuta can serve as a wonderful base for your family holiday in Bali as it is located close to all the cool waterparks and indoor theme parks that kids will absolutely want to go to when they are on the island. And for adults, Kuta is also close to many cultural sites and ancient temples where you can learn more about Balinese culture.

You can also hit the beach in a matter of minutes! When the sun, sea, and sand beckon, you can go there on a whim. And the sunsets at Kuta Beach are to die for. While you're there, you and the crew can try your hand at watersports like swimming and surfing - even the little ones can join in the fun (just make sure to put their safety first). Take a stroll along the coast, do cartwheels on the shore, and build sandcastles on the sand as you breathe in that fresh sea air.

After a day of family adventures, you can take your pick in dining at the many culinary selections Kuta has to offer. Plenty of restaurants offer a good kids menu, and there’s so much good food that you’ll probably end up unbuttoning your pants after your meal. But it doesn't stop there – you'll also find loads of shopping centres to hunt for souvenirs and local crafts. Nobody is going to leave empty-handed. With so much on offer, your holiday will be epic from start to finish.

So what are you waiting for? Pack your bags and head to magical Kuta for a vacation you'll never forget! And don’t worry, the party can start once the little ones are in bed.
Kuta is a buzzing beachside hotspot packed to the brim with possibilities for fun, adventure and cultural exploration. Here are some things to do while you’re in the area:

For surfing enthusiasts, start your morning with some serious stoke. Go to Kuta Beach and catch the perfect wave. The huge waves and crowds of surfers are a testament to the fact that this is a surfer’s paradise. If you’ve never surfed, don’t worry! There are plenty of surf schools lined up on shore like Odyssey Surf School. Their surf instructors are great and will teach you all the fundamentals while having loads of fun.

But perhaps you went partying the night before, and are feeling a little too tired for a good surf. Well, it’s a good thing you can gently ease your way into the day with a soothing spa ritual, either with a massage therapist in your villa or at established spa parlours like Shine SPA for Sheraton, Febri’s Spa or the ultra-luxe Karma Jimbaran.

After your pamper sesh, it’ll be time to hit the shops. The stylish Beachwalk Shopping Mall offers well-loved brands like Zara and Pull & Bear, a cinema, a range of dining venues and a batik museum. Discovery Shopping Mall Bali is a one-stop shop for retail therapy, food and fun, while Mal Bali Galeria houses top brands and dining.

For the adventure hounds seeking an unreal experience in Bali, this one's for you. How about getting sky-high in a chopper ride with Air Bali, or venturing into the depths on an Odyssey Submarine? If sorting an excursion sounds like too much work, let us know, and we’ll let your villa manager hook you up!

If you’re travelling with kids, take them to Waterbom Bali or Trans Studio. They’ll have the time of their lives playing in these theme parks. But be careful, there might be some tears shed when playtime is over.

When golden hour approaches, head to the beach for a spectacular sunset show. The remote coasts of Kelan only add to the experience of watching the light fade. And if you prefer sunset cocktails in a fancy setting, Velvet at Kuta Beachwalk and The Stones Entertainment Centre (with rooftop bar and hot tub) come highly recommended.

Or why not mix up some cocktails on your own and stay in at your villa for a magical evening? You may not get panoramic views of the sea, but you’ll enjoy ultimate privacy, along with having a lush tropical garden and sparkling pool all to yourself. Cheers!
To get around Kuta, there are several convenient transportation options available. One common way to navigate Kuta is by using taxis, both traditional metered taxis and ride-hailing services like Grab and Gojek. Taxis provide a comfortable and relatively affordable way to travel around the area and explore different attractions.

Another popular mode of transportation in Kuta is renting a scooter or a car. Renting a scooter allows for easy manoeuvring through traffic and access to more remote areas, while renting a car provides convenience and flexibility, especially for families who want to explore Bali at their own pace.
The best time to visit Kuta is from May to June and from September to October, which fall in the dry season. These months are perfect for soaking up those sunny rays and getting your tan on. You'll have blue skies as far as the eye can see and a lovely warm breeze to keep you comfortable. These months are also outside of peak season, so you’ll see fewer tourists around – that means you won’t have to fight for a sunbed on the beach.

For those of you who live for the thrill of the waves, the wet season between October and March is the perfect time to come. The surf will be pumping with powerful swells perfect for all abilities. You'll find yourself itching to hit the water from dawn till dusk. Sure, an umbrella may be needed but the surf more than makes up for a few showers!
Kuta, once a quiet fishing village on the southwestern coast of Bali, has transformed over the years into a bustling tourist destination known for its beautiful beaches, vibrant nightlife, and world-class surfing spots. The history of Kuta is rich, with its roots tracing back to ancient times when it served as a trading port for spices and goods among Indonesian islands.

In the 1960s and 1970s, Kuta started to gain popularity among backpackers and surfers for its laid-back atmosphere and excellent waves. As tourism grew, so did the development of hotels, restaurants, and entertainment venues, turning Kuta into a vibrant hub for travellers from around the world.

However, Kuta faced a tragic event in 2002 when a terrorist bombing occurred, resulting in a significant loss of life and impacting the tourism industry in Bali. Despite this setback, Kuta and Bali as a whole have shown resilience and bounced back, continuing to attract visitors with their unique blend of culture, natural beauty, and hospitality.

Today, Kuta remains a top destination in Bali, offering a mix of modern amenities and traditional Balinese charm, making it a favourite spot for those seeking sun, surf, and a lively atmosphere.

Is Kuta worth visiting in Bali?

Of course! Kuta is, after all, one of the most famous tourist destinations in Bali. If you’re after a rip-roaring good time, then you won’t be disappointed when you come to Kuta. Famous for its picture-perfect coastlines and gnarly waves, Kuta is an absolute surfer's paradise. When you're not catching waves, you can party like there's no tomorrow - the nightlife scene is lively and full of energy. And after working up an appetite from all that excitement, you'll be spoilt for choice with mouthwatering local cuisine and international dining options. Whether you want to relax by the beach, try adrenaline-pumping watersports or explore vibrant markets, Kuta has got it all.

Is it better to stay in Kuta or Seminyak?

It really depends on what you’re after. If you want to surf and experience Bali’s renowned nightlife, then Kuta is the perfect place to stay. It’s the most convenient, and many places are within walking distance, including the beach! If you prefer some upgraded R&R, Seminyak is the place to be. Indulge in world-class spas, restaurants, cafes, and boutiques where you can shop ‘til you drop.

How long to stay in Kuta, Bali?

When it comes to how long to stay in Kuta, Bali, it really depends on your travel preferences and itinerary. Some visitors find that spending 2-3 days in Kuta is sufficient to enjoy the beaches, nightlife, and shopping the area has to offer. However, if you want to explore more of Bali, you could consider a longer stay of 5-7 days to fully immerse yourself in the local culture and take day trips to nearby attractions.

Can I swim in Kuta Beach?

Yes, you can. But make sure that the waves aren’t too big that day and you know your limits. If you’re not a very good swimmer, make sure you stay close to shore where you can still touch the bottom of the water. There are also red and yellow flags set out by lifeguards to mark areas of stronger waves and currents. Make sure you don’t go beyond that point.

Is it safe to walk around Kuta?

If you’re in Central Kuta, you can definitely walk around as the shops and restaurants are close to each other. However, because it is a bustling hub for tourists, there have been incidents of pick-pockets in the area. Just make sure to keep an eye out for your belongings at all times.
