Canggu beachfront villas

Canggu’s days as a sleepy seaside village are long gone. Today, the town is home to stylish boutiques, surf camps, exciting party venues and organic cafes that won’t look out of place in a city like Melbourne or London.

There’s something for everyone - from surfers to beach-goers and nature lovers - and this may explain why the town is a big draw for expatriates. It’s a great place to be if you’re looking to spend lots of time by the beach - but there’s definitely more to Canggu than its glittering black sand coasts and world-class surf.

Your beachfront villa boasts incredible ocean views, and an extensive garden that stretches out towards the beach. The uninterrupted sea vistas can be enjoyed across the property - from the indoor-outdoor living pavilion, to the bedrooms, private pool and garden.

Expect nothing less than impeccable hospitality; a team of on-site staff will take care of your vacation needs, and a villa manager will assist with a travel arrangements - from in-villa dining experiences and massages, to vehicle rental, tour bookings and more.

Canggu’s beaches are known for its world-class surf. There’s Batu Bolong Beach, Echo Beach, Pererenan Beach and Berawa Beach to name a few. All beaches offer scenic sunset views, although Pererenan and Berawa are quieter, with few beach bars or restaurants. Strong currents and big waves are present in the waters here, making the seas unsuitable for swimming.

Start the day with a wholesome, hearty brunch at venues like Crate Cafe, Machinery Cafe or Motion Cafe. The town’s growing healthy cafe scene means you’ll have ample options for breezy, well-appointed cafes serving up colourful breakfast bowls, turmeric lattes, avocado-inspired mains and sweet potato waffles.

Beachfront dining is a must-try experience, as the seafront venues here offer sunset views that are hard to beat. While your day away at Finns Beach Club; there’s plenty of day beds, loungers, an infinity pool and swim-up bar. We also like La Laguna for its rustic decor and bohemian vibes and Echo Beach Club for its unfussy, relaxed setting.

Away from the beach, spend your time at yoga, a spa treatment, learning to cook Balinese fare or browsing through ultra-chic boutiques. Stretch it out on a mat at Samadi Yoga or Desa Seni’s School of Yoga - or even at a private in-villa session if you prefer a one-to-one class setting. Both Spring Spa Canggu and the Body Temple Spa offer incredible spa treatments, such as aromatherapy rituals, cleansing facials and mani-pedi treatments.

Iboe Soelastri’s cooking classes at Hotel Tugu Bali are a widely acclaimed activity. Participants will start off with a visit to the sprawling Badung market, before attending a comprehensive lesson at the hotel’s traditional-looking kitchen.

On a souvenir shopping spree? Stop by Bungalow Living for its striking Indian and Balinese inspired homeware pieces. We like the leather accessories at ODD, but the multi-concept store is also worth visiting for its art exhibitions, events and workshops. BLAK Boutique is the to-go venue for parents seeking out edgy fashion wear for kids and tweens. The Offering also stocks kidswear, along with womenswear and homeware accessories.
