Villa Shamballa is a stunning tranquil 1-bedroom retreat surrounded by tropical jungle, river beds and rice paddies yet still close to the heart of Ubud, Bali's cultural and spiritual center. This villa combines traditional architecture, old-style wooden interior and magnificent views with modern luxuries and service making it the perfect romantic getaway for couples on holiday on the beautiful island of the Gods.
Upstairs you will find the super big and romantic bedroom suite overlooking the jungle valley with high thatched roof and a wooden interior design enriched by white decorations giving the space a classy and serene ambience. At the end of the room there is a lounge area with an antique daybed and 2 sofas with traditional batik cushions, the perfect spot for watching Bali's enchanting sunrise over the valley while enjoying your morning coffee in a peaceful setting. The room features a stunning canopied four-poster bed with Egyptian cotton sheets, white curtains around it and beautifully designed Chinese lamps on the nightstands. In the wooden wardrobe closet you can stash you valuable belonging in the safety deposit and take out the fresh kimono’s and slippers to wear in the morning. The en-suite bathroom features a luxurious bathtub with candles, situated on a balcony overlooking the valley and there is also a relaxing rain-shower and washbasin with guest amenities including hair-dryer.

On the edge of a jungle valley with a river flowing down in the gorge, lies the outdoor area of Villa Shamballa with an infinity swimming pool blending perfectly together with the stunning tropical surroundings. Around the pool you can sunbath on one of the wooden daybeds to catch a nice tropical tan or you can enjoy an outdoor breakfast in the gazebo with thatched roof and a wooden seating area. On the other side you will find the perfect spot to read a book on the built-in sofa or you can have a relaxing traditional massage in the spa area with massage bed.
The bright and spacious living area features traditional thatched rooftops and magnificent view over the surrounding landscapes. The room boasts a beautiful wooden interior design enriched by traditional artefacts. There is a round wooden dining area for a romantic candlelight dinner and a lounge area boasting a huge mirror reflecting the outside jungle valley with comfortable sofa's facing a wooden closet with flat-screen television and lots of books to choose from. In the evening you can close the bamboo shutters to create a cozy atmosphere and curl op together watching a movie. There is also a extra bathroom downstairs with a luxurious outdoor stone-carved bathtub and rain-shower placed on a terrazzo floor surrounded by greenery and candles.
Villa Shamballa has 3 professional and friendly staff taking care of you during your stay with personal assistance, daily housekeeping and security at night. They speak good English and can arrange private in-house yoga sessions and relaxing massages or outdoor activities and day-trips.
The villa is located in the quiet village of Payogan, just a 7-minute drive from the busy town of Ubud. In this village, you can experience the everyday life of the locals. A popular hiking trail, the Campuhan Ridge Walk, is only a 5-minute drive away. It follows the river and offers great views of the surrounding valley and nature. The villa offers a peaceful setting while being close to the attractions of Ubud. E2C Coffee & Eatery Ubud is just a few minutes away from the villa, offering a great spot for a relaxing coffee or meal

10/10What an amazing location for this incredibly luxurious villa, staffed by the most amazing people. Eluh, Yang and their team were incredible, providing us with whatever we needed - which wasn't much if at all, since the villa was equipped with everything you could ask for. The food was an absolute delight. Breakfast - anything we asked for. Pancake - well - delicious. The view from the bedroom was a sight for sore eyes in the morning. The mist over the rain forest. What a treat. The bathrooms were so beautiful. If only we could take the interior of the entire villa home with us. The pool was just the icing on the cake. I cannot rave and credit the villa and beautiful people enough. You will NOT be disappointed - until you have to leave! Thank you ALL so very much. It was a dream.
9.8/10We loved our stay at Shamballa Residence! LOVED it!! The villa is beautiful, comfortable, light, and spacious: chairs/couches are comfy, the bed was lovely, it's totally open at the back so 100% natural light. The pool was such a treat!! It appears to spill into the jungle around the villa. And the bathrooms were so nice! The staff is amazing! They were helpful, kind and great cooks! (We also had massages and the villa staff set it up and they were heavenly!) I also need to note that our villa's driver was great!! We wanted a place close to Ubud, but not in the town center and that's what we got! Our only complaint is that the road behind the villa gets busy during the day, so if you're looking for something very quiet, this may not be the place. (It only really bothered us after a nighttime ceremony at a nearby temple ended and everyone drove home.)

9.2/10It is really a lovely place to stay for honeymoon. Exceptional service we received during our stay at Shamballa Residence.The villa and it's surroundings are beautiful and peaceful, clean immaculately presented and had everything necessary for a relaxing holiday. With amazing sunrise view from the open air spacious bedroom we couldn't ask for more. The staff who manages it were friendly, helpful and accommodating, we stayed for 3 nights but wish we'd stayed here longer. The villa is located about a 20 min drive from central Ubud, perfect for peace and quiet from the hubbub of town, we would definitely love to come back!

10/10We spent first two nights in here for our honeymoon. For us, this was much better than the Nusa dua Sofitel, where we stayed after. The villa was beyond my expectations. So clean, so big, and the best part was no mosquitos. The villa is completely open, and the sun, the waterfall sound and birds woke us up early in the morning. I felt like I am part of the nature. The food and staffs were so nice. The breakfast was really good. Only con is that this is not in the walking distance to the center of Ubud. So everytime we had to hire a taxi driver. But the villa had a taxi driver who took us everywhere. We will definetly go back to remind our honeymoon, so please maintain this villa like this for a long time!
10/10It was a DREAM: the villa is GORGEOUS!! When we first entered, the time has stopped and we started to live our best vacations ever. The villa is amazing, the view is wonderful and the staff make your stay peaceful and magic. All the team were incredibly helpful and kind. I wish I had never leave this place and I can stay there forever. Plus, the food is delightful! Go there, and you won't disappointed. LOVE IT
