Bali is renowned for its world-class beaches, and there’s one right outside your doorstep when you stay in a beachfront villa. As soon as you walk outside, you'll find no shortage of beach activities for the whole family. If you’re travelling with little ones, many of our beach villas offer toys, boogie boards, stand-up paddle boards, and kayaks for you to use (if they don’t, you can always request one from our concierge team). The kids will love building sandcastles, hunting for shells, and swimming in the cool, refreshing water. Just make sure they stay on the shallow end and that the waves aren’t too big that day.
For the teens and adults, you can spend hours snorkelling the nearby reefs and trying to find Nemo. Some of the best snorkelling spots in Bali are found on Menjangan Island, Sanur Beach, Blue Lagoon, Tulamben and Amed. You can also try other watersports like kitesurfing, parasailing, scuba diving, and freediving. There are many schools along the beach that will offer you lessons taught by certified guides.
For couples, enjoy sunrise or sunset yoga on the beach and long romantic walks hand-in-hand along the powdery shoreline. Then, enjoy a romantic dinner date at the many beachside restaurants in Bali. Try booking a table at Breeze At The Samaya in Seminyak or KayuPuti in Nusa Dua – the food and ambience are award-winning. If you prefer something more intimate, hire a chef for the night to cook in your villa and dine under the stars on your patio or terrace.
Meanwhile, if you’re travelling with friends or on a corporate outing, you can organise beach volleyball games, barbecue lunches on the sand, and sunset cocktails right from your private pool in your beachfront villa. And when the sun goes down, make sure to hit the trendy beach clubs lined up in Seminyak like Potato Head, Mano Beach, and Beach Bar at Alila or The Lawn, Como Beach Club, and La Brisa in Canggu.
And of course – there’s surfing. I mean you’re in Bali after all! You'll find surf schools on almost every beach across the Indonesian island. That said, not every beach is perfectly suited for catching waves. Beginners may have more fun learning the basics at Sanur Beach, where conditions are quite mellow.
However, if you’re a more experienced surfer, you might get bored to tears riding Sanur's soft waves. For pros, spots like Uluwatu, Padang Padang, Impossibles, Balangan and Medewi offer far more challenging breaks with bigger sets to tackle. Kuta Beach also provides a variety of waves for intermediate to advanced abilities. The beach activities in Bali are just endless, and whatever you decide to do, we guarantee you’re going to have splashin’ good time!
