Its name in Sanskrit means Heavenly or Extraordinary Terraces. For such an arresting name as this, guests can only expect nothing short of heavenly or extraordinary as soon as they step into the world of Teras Divya, a full-fledged resort set amidst the lush tropical landscape that is a stone’s throw away from Ubud, Bali. Here in the authentic and tranquil village of Desa Kelusa, guests pull up at the end of a quaint road that is lined by groves of tall coconut trees, before Teras Divya unveils itself in stepped terraces thriving with rice fields that surround its perimeters. Consisting of 6 charismatic and gorgeous rooms within, the resort’s architecture feature a mix of traditional and contemporary elements where flat green roofs and open bale afford guests with some of the most serene yet breathtaking 180 degree views of the rice paddies and nature that some of the best scenes one can ask for.
There are 6 bedrooms within Teras Divya that are designed for guests’ comfort, style and relaxation in mind. All of the rooms are named after tropical and exotic Indonesian hardwood trees, and are equipped with Wifi connectivity, coffee and tea making facilities, fully-stocked mini bar and fridge, toiletries and amenities like hairdryers and bathrobes. The first 2 rooms are called Eboni + Mahoni with 1 king-sized bed and are each designed with a naturally-ventilated bathroom with a rainshower, large vanity and bathtub and views of the secluded gardens. They share a common terrace under a pergola that overlooks the lower lawn. The next 2 rooms are Baobab + Merbau that are each configured with 2 Hollywood twin single beds that can be combined as a double bed, and comes with an adjoining bathroom space that features a rainshower and large vanity. The Trembesi Suite follows next with 1 king-sized bed and an integrated bathroom within the bedroom that comes with an extensive vanity, separate shower cubicle with rain shower and toilet cubicle. The final room is the fabulous Gaharu Master Suite which is a private master suite designed with a beautiful 4 poster bed with prime views over the entire property, a walk-in wardrobe and sitting room, a bathroom integrated within the bedroom that looks out to the rice fields, and finally, an exclusive access via a completely separate stairwell!
The outdoor spaces of Teras Divya are made up of common areas and facilities that are spacious, gorgeous and very attuned to the resort’s overall backdrop and theme. The first is the lobby lounge which is designed in the concept of a wantilan with a traditional roof and fitted with sofa daybeds for lazing and relaxation, a dining table for 4 to 6 pax, and open terrace seating that looks out to amazing sunset views. Then there is the Joglo which can sit 20 persons and overlooks the infinity pool and pool terrace area, meant as a central open-air traditional building as the heart of the property and used as the main dining area and for meetings and training events. Not forgetting is the Gym + Spa Bale featuring 3 integrated spaces namely the gym, a built-in onsen Jacuzzi and a double massage room for the full holistic wellness needs of guests. Other must check-outs are the Infinity Pool measuring 17 m X 4 m with saltwater and Javanese stone tiles, complete with sun loungers and pool umbrellas, a studio library that is adjacent to the kitchen for guests’ use, as well as a mesmerizing central expansive green lawn that can be used to host wedding receptions, outdoor movie cinemas or even yoga sessions based on guests’ requests.
The indoors feature tastefully-furnished and chic interiors of the individual bedrooms, each of which comes with their own unique element, such as the Gaharu Master Suite, whereby its private sitting room is equipped with a 55-inch television, comfortable sofa seating, writing desk and chair. Traditional elements like floor tiles and wooden furnishings and furniture (shelves, wooden bed frames, sliding windows and doors) are present in all the rooms to add the dimension of a true Balinese-themed resort at heart.
