9.6/10Peaceful, relaxing & very chilled sums it up at the Villa as a result of great house / pool , fantastic staff and service. This was our first experience of having staff on site , nothing was ever too much bother for Murda (spelt wrong!) and his team , they were attentive and very friendly at all times without being intrusive. It was like being in your own 5* boutique hotel in the middle of a beautiful jungle / rice field location - breath-taking. The food prepared was always 1st class. We had the car(s) and drivers provided by Amala , led by the knowledgeable , reliable and friendly 'Made'. We were about a 15-20 minute (trafficcy but interesting) drive journey by car from the villa to central Ubud, which was a bustling , colourful and fun place to eat and shop. Made took us on excusrions for White Water rafting , Monkey Forest, Elephant Sanctuary and Arts and Crafts galleries , all of which were great fun and interesting. I hardly ever write reviews , but am moved to on this occasions because we all felt it was such a special and magical experience . The weather could have kinder , but if was fine and to be honest , you would be missing great opportunities if you just sat by the (fantastic ) 20m pool all day. We were a group that required 2 double bedrooms 5 singles , which meant converting the Library and TV room into bedrooms. Whilst these were absolutely fine with aircon and en suite bathrooms , they were not to the high standards of the other rooms, but we knew that going in . We would definitely return.
10/10Short message to thank you for recommending villa Amala in Ubud. We have had a wonderful stay. The house was beautiful and well located.
10/10The house was wonderful, in the middle of the ricefields, the bedrooms perfect and the service exceptional. We have done the bicycle and rafting that was recommended by the driver. Excellent. We have spent here 4 wonderful days... In short, villa amala is a paradise. I recommend strongly this house and its unique atmosphere.
9.6/10Nurah and his team were attentive and ever-obliging in meeting all our needs and requirements (even to the extent of working overtime). Villa was peaceful, rooms were kept clean and bottled water was replenished daily. Special mention must also be made of the chef, who is able to whip up a tasty feast of Indonesian, Western, Thai and Italian cuisine. Overall, a great place to relax!
10/10My family, 3 generations with children from 1 to 8, stayed at Villa Amala for Christmas 2013. We had a fantastic stay. The Villa had everything we needed, including an amazing pool and luxurious amenities, and the staff were able to meet our every request. The Villa was far enough away from Ubud that we didn't feel any pressure to be tourists but close enough that a trip into town for a massage was a nice excursion and Made ensured the car was available whenever we needed it. We had amazing food our entire stay and the cooks were very happy to cater for all of our different requests, including a suckling pig for Christmas lunch. All 14 of us had a wonderful stay at Amala and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing well appointed villa in the middle of rural rice paddies. Stunning!
9.2/10Villa Amala is absolutely gorgeous. In a stunning setting amongst ricefields and river bank forest. Very peaceful but still a short (10-15 min) drive into Ubud. The decor is stunning; all rooms were lovely with fantastic bathrooms. Our staff were unobtrusive and efficient. The food was excellent - ingredients bought and prepared by cook and very inexpensive. Our driver and his brother who provide extra car (we were 2 families so 11 people) were excellent and found us the best places to eat when we were out. Highly recommend it.
10/10Peaceful setting, 5 star accommodations, great food, welcoming staff...look forward to my next visit there. Pictures are great but being there to experience Amala is unforgettable.
10/10Had the most amazing time in the villa with my family and some friends. Its tucked away in the PIcture Postcard Perfect Padi fields and Perched on the edge of a rainforest. Feels like your very own retreat in the nicest part of Bali - at the same time, its a 5 min drive to Ubud Town with all its amenities. We loved hanging by the Pool and ordering Raki-Madu ( Honey Sake ) from the ever obliging staff and waking up to the serenity of the Lush Landscape. The Perfect antidote to life in the big city!
10/10peace & serenity amidst paddy fields, scenic mountain views & cool climate on high grounds. pristine accomodations & yummy eats...go one and you keep coming back.
