Villa Awan Biru is a cluster of about eight pavilions embodying traditional Balinese architecture – with their distinct alang-alang thatch roofs – and classic tropical elegance. Interiors are appointed with predominantly superbly crafted, dark wood furnishings, weathered wood and ornate fixtures, as well as Oriental, stylish and luxurious pieces. Amenities are essentially of hotel and resort quality – to ensure the pure pleasure and indulgence of each and every guest. Nestled amidst Ubud’s famous rice terraces, Villa Awan Biru, truly, rolls out for you exotic and refined vacation living with genuinely enchanting surroundings.
The villa has seven air-conditioned bedrooms. The master bedroom, on the second floor of the central pavilion, has a draped, king-sized bed, as well as a dedicated bathroom with a fitted, stone bathtub and a rain shower. This bedroom also opens out to a stylishly furnished balcony with magnificent landscape views. Five other guest rooms are in individual pavilions. Two of these guest rooms have draped, king-sized beds, and two others have draped twin beds. All guest rooms have dedicated bathrooms with rain showers and sunken, open-air bathtubs.
The villa has two swimming pools – one is an infinity pool with a jacuzzi, and the other is a plunge pool. Immerse yourself in their inviting, glassy waters for some aimless wading, or for some playful splashing. From the water, you can laze on cushioned, pool beds partially covered by large, red umbrellas on both poolside stone and wooden decks, or on the soft mattresses and pillows under the shade of the infinity pool’s bale.
On the sunny and airy ground floor of the villa’s central pavilion is the living area with its large sofas oriented toward a widescreen TV. Here, you can all catch shows you’ve been closely following. Or, go on a marathon of your can’t-get-enough-of classic movies. Behind one of the sofas is the dining area. On its dark wood table good for six, you can all get a taste of authentic Balinese cuisine – as well as your most requested comfort food – dished out by the in-house chef from the villa’s well-equipped, modern kitchen. The villa also has a game pavilion with billiards, foosball and ping-pong tables, as well as dart boards. Out on the villa’s grounds are a mini-golf course, a badminton court and a trampoline. In individual pavilions are the villa’s gym, as well as the villa’s spa with a steam shower and an infra-red sauna. Ideal for sunset cocktails is the villa’s kul-kul or sentinel tower with magnificent views of Bali’s majestic mountain range.
In charge of carrying out the day-to-day services of the villa is a staff composed of a pool attendant, a gardener, a laundry helper, as well as housekeepers and security personnel. In addition to the chef, a driver and a spa therapist may, upon your request, be called in. Their services will be charged separately however. Bikes may be used for free. Car rental is also available.
Villa Awan Biru is situated in Payangan – a mountainous area in Ubud. From the villa, head to the Goa Gajah Elephant Cave, the Puri Saren Royal Palace, the Blanco Renaissance Museum, the Agung Rai Museum Of Art and the Setia Darma House Of Masks. Notable dining places in the vicinity are La Rouge, Mozaic, Nuri’s and Fly Café. On your next day tour, go back to nature at the Ubud Monkey Forest, the Tegallalang Rice Terraces, the Campuhan Ridge Walk, the Bali Bird And Reptile Park and the Tegenungan Waterfall.
9.8/10Everything about Villa Awan Biru was excellent, breathtaking scenery, well designed and carefully cared after landscaping, buildings/ rooms and facilities are tastefully designed and are in great conditions. Staffs are very warm, helpful and efficient. The only small hiccups were that water supply and wifi went off for more than half a day during our stay, but those were due to central pump and server issues which cannot be solved by the staff. They did their best to solve the issues the best they could. Not really an issue with that as things like that do happen, especially when the villa is in rural area, totally understandable. Just one request for improvement, the pool could use more heating so we can swim in the evening or at night :) Thank you Mustika and the team at Villa Awan Biru!
10/10If there was a Relais & Châteaux in Bali, it would be here at Awan Biru. An exceptional place created by an exceptional couple for exceptional people. It is said that everyone who calls himself a traveler should enjoy a stay at Awan Biru... simply magic. Long live Awan Biru, with all my gratitude.
10/10"WONDERFUL" was the first word we said when we arrived! The gorgeousness of the tropical scenery, the comfortable pavilion with its pieces of arts, the beautiful carvings in the garden in the middle of the flowerbeds, the refined cuisine of Raï, the smiles of M have contributed to a perfect stay in this paradise. TERIMA KASIH to all the staff for their great smiles and kindness. I will never forget the walk in the rice paddies!!!!
