Cuisine is good. We wanted to do a massage for the Whole family but this needed to be booked in advance, so at night we were somehow bored because there was not realy something to do.

I stayed three nights here with my husband and our two teenage sons. Nestled in a beautiful valley with views to the across lush green rice paddies and mountains covered with clove trees and palms, Sanak provides a chance to experience the best of rural Bali. It's a long and windy drive over the mountains from the south but well worth it. With just 11 villas, this feels like a boutique retreat offering a fairly unique experience. Most guests are there for the peace and beauty of the place and many guests take the opportunity to do guided walks, treks or canoeing - we did a waterfall walk and a canoeing trip and both were reasonably priced and well worth while, with excellent local guides. Most of the staff are from the local villages and you get the sense that they take great pride in the resort. The villas are lovely with a truly Balinese flavour and the cool evening breeze makes sleeping comfortable without air con - once you adjust to the sounds of dogs and roosters! The restaurant offers a limited menu but the food is of a very good standard and there is enough variety for a stay of a few days. Our whole family loved Sanak's simple elegance and we take away lovely memories of a special part of Bali. Thank you.

We stay one night in this place which have beautiful setting in the middle of rice field and mountain view with nice garden surround the villa. Sebastian welcome us with friendly and a coconut water. The food is good from breakfast, lunch and dinner we not complain about it. The price of food is not too bad consider with the remote location and the taste is delicious. All The staff friendly and helpful, I got surprised yummy birthday cake after dinner. Thank you for that. Its so sweet. The room is small not as our expected but we enjoy and can sleep well. In the afternoon some local girls practise dancing in front of restaurant and its good entertainment while enjoy the sunset. I manage to had massage in their spa. Okta the therapist girl did good job to make my muscle relax and the price for massage is not expensive. Do not expect TV, AC or Coffee maker inside the room. I think it design without it. Sebastian and staff farewell us friendly before we leave. Over all we enjoy our stay and recommend to whom like to getaway and looking for peaceful with surrounding by nature.

I don't know where to start but Sanak Retreat is super beautiful ! Do not expect party or night out nearby Sanak as this place is far from the usual tourist places but that's what make Sanak so special. A place for total relaxation. Very well designed, attention to detail in service and the design. Staff are very professional and super friendly. We eat there 3x a day as no restaurants nearby but we knew this and we love it. The view is amazing especially during sunset. They have beautiful spa and also offers some well tailored programmes (trekking, waterfalls trip and many others). I'm so happy and I'm booking again for my next visit this coming October :-) See you soon Sanak!
