A great holiday. Lovely surroundings and close to the beach for snorkeling. Staff were only too happy to help with anything. The boys enjoyed chatting to the staff. Wayan is very professional and good to our (adult) boys. Will come back if we can!

Fabulous holiday had by all at Villa Gils. Wayan and team did an amazing job looking after us all from different breakfast times to organizing our morning massages each day and drivers to take us to our activities. We have had an amazing 2 weeks at Villa Gils. Nothing was too much trouble with Wayan, Karmi, Kadek and Ketut (and security Ketut!). The villa is beautiful, clean, spacious but is made extra special by the staff. Wayan helped us organise some brilliant adventures in East Bali, she has excellent knowledge of the area and always knows someone who can help. Mendira village is lovely, some wonderful places to see and to eat and very friendly people. We can't wait to come back. We only wish we were a bit closer. Thank you!

Was sad to have to leave Villa Gils. This was the perfect way to end our trip in Indonesia. The villa is situated in a quiet area, close to the ocean. you can hear the waves in the background. The staff were absolutely amazing. They were so sweet, helpful, and the best cooks! You don't need to leave the villa for lunch or dinner, instead give the staff some notice and order food from the menu at the villa, I promise you will not be disappointed. We ordered the Sweet & sour chicken, Chicken Rendang, and the Bubur Injin (black rice pudding). the villa itself is gorgeous. We spent a lot of time relaxing in and by the large pool. Loved the outdoor bathroom. Listening to the birds while showering in the morning is a wonderful way to start the day. Again the staff are fantastic, they took care of everything, so thoughtful and truly make the villa a relaxing haven that you wont want to leave. The only improvement I can think of is the bed was a bit firm for my liking. There are lots of small shops in the village that sell snacks and drinks that are a very short walk away. Miss Villa Gils and the lovely staff. Thank you all so very much.

Everything about this villa is great! The house, the pool and the lovely staff. They make great food and arrange everything you need (trips, drivers etc). In reality it is even more beautiful than the site indicates.

What can we say - we found heaven! Wayan and her team are totally amazing. From cooking us the most fabulous food - we only ate out twice during our 12 days - to arranging in villa massages - to booking taxis for us - nothing is too much for the Villa Gils team. The villa is a dream - and the pool - words cannot describe how amazing it is - all 25 metres of it. The villa location is tranquil and amazing - you are in the village and experience true Balinese village life - and go to sleep to the sound of the crashing waves from the nearby ocean. Your alarm clock is the local rooster! We can’t recommend Villa Gils and Wayan and her team highly enough.

We stayed for 5 nights and the villa is just a dream. Very comfortable rooms with air-con and fan. Unusual bathrooms with outdoor showers on the upper floor. Of course the best of the Villa is Wayan and her team. Great breakfast and dinners. Large choice of food cooked in a better way then many restaurants. Wayan will assist you with everything you need. Organizing sightseeing, taxi, transfer, special food or booking to the surrounding islands, just ask and she makes it happen. This is real 5 star house which I can only recommend.

Everything about the Villa was amazing!! The rooms were spacious, clean, and each had their own bathroom. The staff was unbelievable. Always there when you needed them and were so accommodating. The food was delicious! We had someone with food allergies and they worked with us to make sure he had food he could eat. We ate in most nights because it was so good. Wayan helped us set up excursions and rides to and from places. Made it super easy to see the island. Wayan had also suggested three different restaurants nearby for our last dinner. The one we had decided on had a view of the beach and had a variety of things on the menu. Something for everyone! I would highly recommend this place to anyone going to Bali and if I make my way back there, I would stay here in a heartbeat!

Really nice villa. Comfy and clean rooms. Lovely big pool and grass area. Quiet location. The staff were absolutely lovely and super helpful. The food was OK - they catered our vegetarian diet fine. Not particularly exciting options and a bit bland but it was OK. Nearest beach is a short drive away. Or a 15 min walk. Overall a really nice place and would recommend it.

Highly recommended villa. We had three generations together for our biannual catch up and really enjoyed our time. The rooms, grounds and villas are kept very well. The food is great, we ate at the villa more than eating out as it was much better! (also easier with kids than going to restaurant) The staff are very friendly and happily go out of their way to be as helpful as possible. Always someone on site, our out of timezoned request for 5am coffee was no problem!

We spent four delicious days at villa Gils. This villa is perfect for all of ages, bedrooms on the ground floor for grand parents et two big bedrooms for children and parents on the first floor. Staff was amazing, always there 24/24, discret but there when we need. Wayan, the villa manager was always smiling, with a lot of good advices for adults and children. Garden and swimming pool are really good maintain

What to say? This is just THE most wonderful of villas and Wayan and the team are amazing. So comfortable, a very private and beautiful site, immaculately maintained, the team cannot do enough for you and their food is simply delicious, in fact we struggled to leave the villa we loved it so. Ideal for 2 families travelling together as two distinct living areas although worth noting that one of these is not interconnecting. Our children are older so we didn't mind but some might. The surrounding area of Candidasa is charming and unspoilt with a very good choice of local restaurants a short taxi ride away. Most restaurants offer a free taxi service so it was never an issue being tucked away! White Sands Beach (only 10 mins taxi away) is something else with massive dramatic waves one day and calm as a mill pond the next and we easily enjoyed trips to Ubud on one day and Tirta Gangga and Tenganan another. It definitely feels relaxed and slow paced in Eastern Bali so don't come if you want the nightlife! We just loved loved it and couldn't recommend it more highly!

We recently spent our third holiday at Villa Gils, and again loved every minute. The villa itself is very comfortable and spotlessly clean, with a fantastic ambience and an excellent swimming pool. Our friends, on their first visit to Candidasa, loved it - loved being able to walk through the local village and feel like they were actually a part of it! The reason this villa is so good though, is the staff. Nothing is too much trouble for any of them, and I must make special mention of Wayan, the manager. This human dynamo is a manager "par excellence", an amazing source of information, ideas, and contacts. All you need do is get to Bali, Wayan will take care of the rest. You can rest assured that your holiday is in good hands. Villa Gils is a little way south of the centre of Candidasa, but there are good restaurants and warungs within a few minutes' walk, and many of Candidasa's better restaurants will happily send a car for you, and bring you home again, gratis. Wayan will book this for you. We spent Nyepi Day (the day of silence, when everyone must stay at home) reading, swimming, and generally relaxing, with our needs attended to by two staff who spent the entire 24 hours "on duty" - a big thank you to Karmi and Kadek - making sure we were well fed and comfortable. Villa Gils is our favourite place to stay in Bali when travelling with friends - 3 couples sharing the cost makes it very affordable. A wonderful experience is guaranteed!

The staff at the villa were most helpful and friendly. Always had a smile on their faces. Being in Candidasa, the distance to town was expected. The villa is very well kept and clean! Would definitely recommend this for anyway looking to get away from the crowds. The staff recommended this quaint seafront restaurant that is part of a resort adjacent to us, a 5 minute walk from the villa for our first dinner in Bali. The in-house chef was also very good. We had all our breakfasts and some lunch/dinners cooked by them too. When we tried to cook our own lunch once, they were very patient and assisted as we stumbled around the kitchen. :)

We had the opportunity to stay at Villa Gils a year ago for a week and loved every second of our trip! The staff is amazing. Very friendly and quick to help us with anything we could think of. The Villa itself is open and airy and very comfortable. If you are looking for a vacation destination in Bali (or Candidasa), this is the place!
