Thank you for your interest in our villas. We look forward to speaking with you!
Shamballa Moon is a two-level villa that typifies contemporary Balinese rustic chic. Efficiently using available space, interiors – with a predominantly white color scheme – are appointed with a blend of masterfully crafted, complementary weathered as well as woven wood furnishings and pieces. Amenities are of hotel and resort grade – to assure each and every guest’s complete ease and diversion. Laid out on a lush canyon overlooking the Wos River Valley, Shamballa Moon provides you a stay with a mood that’s, at once, secluded, intimate and even romantic.
The villa has only one bedroom on the second level. This bedroom has a four-post and draped king-sized bed as well as a dedicated bathroom. On the ground level is a semi-open bathroom with an outdoor rain shower and a free standing bathtub. This bedroom opens out to a furnished balcony with postcard-perfect views of majestic Mount Agung.
The centerpiece of the villa’s exterior is the six-meter swimming pool. Dip into its crystal-clear waters and wade in silence yet conscious of each other’s presence. From the water, you can lie on cushioned, woven wood pool beds partially covered by large umbrellas on the poolside wooden deck. Or, sit back on the cushioned, woven wood couch under the shade of the draped bale on the other side of the swimming pool – amidst the scents and sounds of nature.
On the breezy, semi-open ground level of the villa is the living area. Around its cushioned, weathered wood sofa and chairs in front of a widescreen TV, you can both catch your favorite shows. Or, watch, once again, your most beloved date or romantic comedy movies. Out on the poolside, high-ceilinged covered terrace is the dining area with its round, wooden table that can accommodate four. Here, an alfresco, candlelight dinner can be set up complete with live music played by local musicians on indigenous instruments.
In charge of carrying out the villa’s day-to-day services is a staff made up of a personal guest assistant, a housekeeper, a gardener and a security detail. Upon your request, a driver, a laundry helper and a spa therapist may be called in. Their services will be charged separately however. Bike, scooter and car rentals are also available.
Shamballa Moon is based in the small village of Payogan. From the villa, just seven minutes away by car is the center of Ubud – the heart of art and culture in Bali where you can go on a day tour of the Goa Gajah Elephant Cave, the Puri Saren Royal Palace, the Blanco Renaissance Museum, the Agung Rai Museum Of Art and the Setia Darma House Of Masks. Top rated dining places are Mozaic, Nuri’s and Fly Café. On another occasion, you can go on a day trip to the Ubud Monkey Forest, the iconic Tegallalang Rice Terraces, the Campuhan Ridge Walk, the Bali Bird And Reptile Park and the Tegenungan Waterfall.
My wife and I had our first family holiday with our 5 month old son at Shamballa Moon. The property was exactly what we had hoped it would be, peaceful surrounds with a view across the treetops sitting by the infinity pool catching the suns rays. What made the venue all the more special was the attentive staff who always went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of. The meals at the villa were fantastic and the arranged day trips allowed us to take in the sites around Ubud in air conditioned comfort. All in all our stay at Shamballa Moon was a wonderful relaxing break thanks to a great property the friendly people on site.
Amazing stay at Shamballa Moon and Shamballa Residence. Both Villas are paradise and staff is absolutely adorable. Breakfast and dinners were superb. Unforgettable experience. Many thanks for everything and for having created such an amazing Villas.
Pretty nice place. The highlight by far is the breakfast by the pool, followed by a swim as the sun rises over the jungle. By 11am the sun is overhead and by lunchtime its gone over the house which is a shame - but kind of good cause you tend to leave the villa and go exploring every day. Kadek is an excellent little chef. Her pineapple pancakes are unique and tasty. and traditional balinese food was great. However, staying in Ubud, you'd be silly to eat in the villa every day with the amount of quality restaurants and lunch cafes around the place. The location is excellent also, 5km to the Ubud town centre, and the villa can organise you a 110cc scooter for 7 dollars a day. The two best day spas (tripadvisor) in Ubud are both within walking distance (one is 200m away) which is handy. I thought it was probably a little expensive though, but thats what you have to pay for privacy and to have your own villa and not have to share a pool like in a hotel.
this review is long overdue. we stayed at moon in october. the staff greeted us with flower leis and cold fruit drinks. the villa is beautiful opens onto the pool and lush green garden. the villa itself is luxurious boasting 2 bathrooms and an outdoor tub. the staff is always there for any needs, but are never intrusive. kedek, mini and all the wayans do an excellent job at running the villa. kedek is a wonderful cook and we enjoyed many delicious meals at the villa. both wendy and atsu give great advice on bali and ubud and are there for any questions. we truly had a magical experience and we very sad to leave. but it's great to know such a place exists to welcome us back anytime. i can't say enough good things about shamballa moon.
The villa is very lovely. It is open, nicely decorated, simple but yet sophisticated. And it looks just like what is shown on the website. The surrounding was so serene. We went there for a relaxing trip, the relaxed feeling was instantaneous. You could feel it as soon as you walk in. We already plan to go back soon. Oh and the staffs are amazing...attentive but not overwhelming...Thank you...
Superb villa, very clam, all you need, with a unique view on the surrounding nature. Staff very discrete and attentive, very good chef.A real pleasure
