Villa Tao

The villa was very comfortable - living areas had fabulous comfortable lounging spots to read, play cards, sunbake. The surf rolled in day after day- a surfer's dream. The pool was fantastic for a refreshing swim. Although the house is some distance from the nearby village with restaurants, we did not mind the isolation. All the villa's staff were very pleasant and helpful. Our chef/cook Leena provided fantastic meals on request: she needed a bit of encouragement to cook Balinese spicy food and add chilli, so be specific in your tastes when asking requesting a meal! Our manager Made was very helpful in arranging transport, daytrips, family surfing lessons, in-house massages and local information. A daytrip up to Pupuan to walk through a coffee plantation to a beautiful waterfall, then through villages growing cacao, coffee, cloves and other spices, down to Medewi was particularly memorable. The manager's assistants kept the place swept and tidy from an early hour and into the night, & provided endless cups of coffee and other refreshments. Our 6 days (5 guests) were great value for money and super relaxing. By the way, the community warung directly in front of the house was great for simple lunches/meals/drinks. The only improvements that I can suggest are to be directed to the owner, who needs to do some maintenance. All bedrooms were great except for the lower bedroom (with mutiple beds -closest to pool) This room was unpleasantly mouldy and dank, the bedding smelt mouldy, and my children did not want to sleep in here because of the stale dank air. The mosquito nets were decorative? - covered in dust and unusable. I would have preferred to turn off the aircon, open the balcony doors when sleeping, but this was not possible without mosquito nets.

We spent an excellent week at villa Tao me and my work team (10 people) amazing place that I highly recommend if you are looking for relaxation and a wonderful holiday. the villa is beautiful, excellent staff, meals are delicious, the staff is top notch !!!! the sunset is magical. the villa has a wonderful architecture and excellent comfort !!!! Villa Tao is a fabulous place !!!

We had a really Nice stay at Villa Tao! the place is gorgeous with an amazing view and direct access to the beach which is quite unique. If you are looking for calm vacation, far form Kuta or Seminiak area to discover a different face of Bali, it is definitely the place. you can go for walks from the villa or rent surfboards! Francoise was very responsive and helped us organize our trip well...

We loved our stay at Villa Tao. The staff were wonderful and made our visit very enjoyable. Many friends have seen my pictures on facebook and have been asking for information about Villa Tao. I will not hesitate in recommending it to them. The only problems we had were that part of the sound system was not working (the outside speakers), the Blu Ray player kept cutting out and probably needs replacing, and some anti slip mats would be helpful in some of the very slippery areas (eg bathroom steps). These were only very small problems. Overall we had a wonderful experience.

Villa Tao is a real paradise in Bali. Very well located in Balian on a beautiful black sand beach, it is very comfortable. The staff is professional and smiling and Wayan, the cook, offered us a great coconut muesli and home-made spring rolls. We spent 8 days, 2 families, and everyone really enjoyed the villa: surf in the morning, playing with the waves, walking in the ricefields, and of course enjoying the sunset from Balian village. The view on the ocean from the bedrooms or the living room is one of the best I had of my whole trip. I definitely recommend for those who are looking for an authentic scenery, far from the touristic spots.
