Nicknamed “The Morning of the World”, Sanur enjoys stunning sunrises over Bali, as well as a buzzing town center, local food markets and 5km beach boardwalk.
Sanur, one of the oldest and earliest beach resort destinations in Bali, still maintains its wealth in arts and culture. This made Sanur an ideal destination for both classic and contemporary travellers. Being along the coast, Sanur features many beachfront accommodations, shops, restaurants and bars on the coastline.
Some of our favorite Sanur villas are traditional in architecture and situated in residential neighborhoods next to the beach. Ketewel to the north is much more laid back and undeveloped in comparison. Most of the villas here have direct access to the beach and a peaceful, off-the-grid type of atmosphere.
Sanur has many activities for families, couples, friends and even solo travellers. The best way to explore this beach town is to rent a bicycle. Sanur is very bicycle-friendly, it is easy to cycle around to explore the beaches, local markets, and museums. After exploring Sanur, you may choose to enjoy home-cooked meals at your private villa, or visit some delicious restaurants like The Onion Bar & Restaurant, Warung Kecil and Soul in a Bowl.
