Choose between the rice-terrace- infinity edge swimming pool next to the pool cabana in Pondok Sapi or the statement swimming pool that sweeps from inside out the living-room of Pondok Surya, to hover seemingly suspended above the rice terraces.
The large, landscaped lawn and rock garden surrounded by the jaw-dropping rain forest and volcanoes views make Villa Kelusa the perfect backdrop for celebrations and enchanting weddings.
Villa Kelusa boasts three separate living areas that blends traditional Bali-style and ultra-contemporary design.
Edged with lotus ponds, the large open-air main pavilion of Pondok Sapi comes with comfortable seating areas furnished with couches and a large dining table. It also has a library, a gourmet kitchen and a media room which can be used as an extra bedroom. The open-sided thatched entertainment cabana with casual lounge area with rattan swings area open onto a sun terrace and the estate’s infinity-edge swimming pool.
The living and entertainment areas housed in the second pavilion, Pondok Surya, are separated via the infinity pool that runs between through the house. An interior bridge carved from a single piece of ironwood connects the living and entertainment areas. The living area has comfortable seating space to relax and enjoy the sweeping views of the rice fields, jungle and mountains. The entertainment area has a bar, a kitchen and a dining area.
Long-standing staff will welcome you with genuine Balinese smiles and are always on hand to make sure you have everything you need for an enjoyable stay at Villa Kelusa. Should guests have any special requests, staff will go the extra mile to make these wishes come true.
Sure-footed guests can venture down to the river with a member of staff as guide, or stroll through the rice fields. The restaurants, cafés, galleries, boutiques, spas and cultural performances of Ubud are less than half an hour’s drive away.
10/10I’ve visited Bali many times, but this was my family’s first stay in Ubud—and Villa Kelusa made it unforgettable. The property is stunning: serene, peaceful, and beautifully maintained. The villa was very spacious and perfectly clean. The staff were highly professional, and the chef prepared excellent meals. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a truly peaceful and relaxing stay in Ubud.
10/10Villa Kelusa was the most beautiful place to stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and made you feel like part of the family. They also really cared about the local environment. We had two families so the two separate dwellings were perfect providing us all with space but still ample communal areas to share. The food was restaurant quality and they were very flexible with what and when you wanted it. They were also happy to help organise any day trips with drivers and even your own scooters. We highly recommend staying here and can't wait to go back!
9.4/10The house is incredible, the rooms are spacious and clean. The staff are very pleasant and attentive. The chef's dishes are delicious.
9.4/10Terrific villa. Would stay here again. Most importantly the service. Wayan and team were outstanding. Accommodated every request and with a smile throughout. Couldn't compliment them enough. Villa is gorgeous - surrounded by rice paddy fields and very peaceful. What's not to like - Location is 30 mins from Ubud, but consequently closer to other attractions - white water rafting, akasha restaurant, rice terraces, etc. Bathrooms in all bedrooms have no doors and no privacy - Wayan and team improvised to help solve this a bit, but owner should consider adding blinds or other solutions. Lastly - we had 2 buildings with 2 bedrooms each with a shared living space in the middle. Each building has its own pool. So if you are family of 10 like us, the space was quite spread out and once you went to your room, you were cut off from the rest of the group. Not a huge issue, but something for future renters to know.
10/10The most wonderful 3 days spent with extended family in this beautiful property located in the Bali jungle overlooking rice paddys. The lovely Wayan and his staff looked after our every need, preparing wonderful food including breakfasts and 2 dinner feasts (1 Balinese and 1 seafood) which were our favourite meals enjoyed on our holiday. The view is breathtaking and the comfort and gorgeous furnishings create a place you will not want to leave. Long time travellers to Bali.....but we have now found our favourite place!!
10/10Located approx. 20min from ubud, Villa Kelusa proved the ultimate hideaway for myself and my partner's family. The setting is beyond magnificent and is ultimately matched with the superior and friendly staff. Wayan (the manager) was amazing not only helping with our stay but also taking us on a tour of the rice fields and driving us to ubud and back. There is very little need to actually leave Villa Kelusa for the entire duration of your stay as their cooking also exceeded some of the world's best establishments that we had also attended. We absolutely loved staying there, the staff and of course their dog Puu (the happiest dog!!). I would highly recommend Villa Kelusa to any person wanting a peaceful, relaxing and stunning break from the hectic pace of Bali.
10/10In an age where reviews reign supreme, I thought that I would break my silence and actually write one. Let me tell you about this magical place called Villa Kelusa that we spent 8 nights in this August. After staying in Bali for close to 2 weeks, I can honestly say that the views from Villa Kelusa were second to none. We had panoramic views of Ubud Valley, complete with lush trees, mountains and rice paddies. What a treat it was to be embraced by the local village and its people while having total privacy when you needed it. The actual villa was quite beautiful, with all the amenities you can image but what was even more impressive was the staff. We instantly felt at home, never hearing the world 'no' when it came to anything. The food was great and the driving services made everything accessible and at our fingertips at any time of the day. For anyone that goes by reviews, and I would consider myself a pretty discerning consumer, I would highly recommend this Villa. The manager Wayan is absolutely the best and played an integral role in us enjoying Bali as much as we did.
10/10Dear All, Words cannot describe our joy and delight to have spent 5 days in your piece of paradise here at Villa Kelusa! The whole experience was 5 star from start to finish and we leave with highly satisfied and longing to return as soon as we can!!
10/10It was my first time in Bali and had no expectations of the Ubud area whatsoever. I was completely mesmerized by the entire area, the air, the temperature but even more so by the Villa Kelusa. I remember at some point thinking that maybe my passport will get stolen and I'll manage to just never leave. The house is super stylish, beautiful chosen details at every step. A modern day castle The food is angel sent, the memory of the Indonesian curry fish still leaves my mouth watering. The view is striking, I could stare at the wilderness without noticing time passing But what made our stay even more memorable is Wayan and his team. They know what you need even before you realize it yourself. And they took care of all my crazy wishes. 5AM yoga in the village? midnight madness at Ku De Ta? Every wish got granted with grace. Now that I'm back in NYC I feel it must have been a dream, no place is so perfect.
