Hidden at the end of a small private lane, this stylish yet utterly casual five bedroom villa consists of three traditional Balinese pavilions set around a dazzling swimming pool and surrounded by lush tropical greens. Offering an abundance of communal hubs as well as lots of private spaces, it's the perfect location for families and groups of friends to get away from it all. Kids have a big garden to run around in, a large and friendly team looks after everything from home-cooked meals to in-villa spa treatments, and a new garden event space can host celebrations of up to 100 guests. All of this is close to the restaurants, shops and nightlife of Canggu. This is a spacious villa in a great location, offering all the trimmings you will need for your next Bali escape.
All five air-conditioned bedrooms are spaced throughout the three pavilions of the villa and come with king-size beds draped in mosquito netting, ensuite bathrooms with single or double basins made from ancient Chinese ceramic bowls and walk-in rain showers. Little ones are well looked after too, with baby cots, high chairs and babysitting available on request.
One of the two bedrooms located in the main living pavilion enjoys a private shaded terrace with rattan armchairs looking over the garden, while the second room boasts serene views of the ornamental lotus pond.
The master bedroom occupies an entire pavilion and can be accessed from the side of the main living pavilion on the wooden walk-way above the ornamental pond or the sliding glass doors from the pool deck, as well as from the pool area. Its lounge area, with a large Smart TV, is a cosy spot for morning coffee or a movie night. The bathroom has the added luxury of a bathtub, and the suite has its own massage bed for treatments without leaving your room. And should you need to log onto your emails urgently, you can do so from the desk made from reclaimed wood.
In the third stand alone pavilion facing the pool, two smaller bedrooms, similar in design, share a communal living space with several sitting areas to enjoy. Guests can gather on the four armchairs and play one of the many vintage board games available, or simply relax on the sofa or enjoy a glass of wine at the rattan table with four matching chairs located at the front of the pavilion.

The villa's generous tropical garden gives kids and adults plenty of room to play, with wide lawns for badminton, shady corners for reading, and a spot for an intimate BBQ. A new event space in the garden can host celebrations of up to 100 guests, arranged on request and subject to approval. A large outdoor family table under the trees is perfect for long dinner set-ups.
At the centre-stage of the villa is the 12 meter swimming pool surrounded by a sociably-sized wooden pool deck, making it the ideal place for entertaining and lounging. Single and double sun loungers with umbrellas are placed around the pool to soak up Bali's sunshine. Located at the end of the pool, behind the master suite, is an elevated spa area for those wanting to enjoy pure relaxation. The villa has a spa menu with different options for everyone’s liking.
The open-sided living room overlooks the pool, garden and pond, and functions as the central congregating spot for guests at Villa Desa Roro. A collection of paintings, exotic artefacts from the Indonesian archipelago and South East Asia lend the villa its unique style and ambience. Under the soaring roof of the wooden joglo, guests can get together on one of the two comfortable sofas.
The villa has two dining areas: a solid teak dining table with comfortable chairs for a dinner indoors, while the large outdoor table is made for larger family dinners. Next to the indoor dining area is a fully equipped modern kitchen with an espresso machine, blender, juicer and all the modern appliances and amenities.
When it's time to slow down, choose from a wide range of board games, including a poker set, Scrabble, Monopoly and Jenga. And anyone who needs to work will find a dedicated desk in a corner of the living area.
Games
During your stay, you will be spoiled by a large team of friendly, attentive staff who will cater to your every need. Their home-cooked meals are a guest favourite, from breakfast spreads to candlelit dinners and BBQ feasts, all prepared and served by the team on request. Unwind with a massage in the massage gazebo, which has two massage beds and overlooks the pool, or in the privacy of your own master suite. The team can also arrange day trips around the island. Meals, BBQ and spa treatments are organized on request at an additional cost.
Trendy cafés, restaurants and boutiques, as well as some of the best yoga classes in town, are just around the corner. On the villa's own street, Mata Berawa serves honest Indonesian dishes from late morning to late evening, and Milk & Madu Berawa is a family favourite with a kids' playground, a children's menu and all-day brunch. The beach is a short walk away, and Finn's Beach Club is the place for sunset drinks and DJ sets. Buzzing Seminyak, with its wide choice of restaurants, chic cocktail bars, exciting nightclubs, lavish spas and elegant boutiques, is a 10 minute drive away.

The pool and grounds were a highlight, and the setting is lovely. The food was very good as well, and the location worked well for us — good value for what you get. Nothing to complain about. We’d happily return.
10/10This Villa is exactly as shown! It was absolutely gorgeous and more than fit our group of 12! The location was so central in Canggu, with easy Gojek times to wherever we wanted to party or eat, and great stuff nearby! The staff at the Villa are so friendly and went above and beyond to clean up after us and make sure our trip was fantastic, helping us with transport, food, tours, and massages. We all pinched ourselves when we first entered the Villa; we would stay here again in a heartbeat. So relaxing and just a stunning Villa. The owner was such a queen also! 9.2/10This villa is absolutely beautiful, walking through the magnificent wooden doors opens up into a magical place to relax and enjoy an amazing Bali lifestyle. Komang and the team, have been so warm and welcoming and made our stay here more enjoyable. They loved having our kids around and there was no request that was to difficult for them to fulfill. We had breakfast cooked most mornings and Komang cooking is amazing. They also cooked us a bubi guling feast for New Year’s Eve which was amazing.

10/10Villa Desa Roro was more than we expected! The villa, staff, location was second to none. We were there for a business retreat, and we had plenty of space to each have our own bedroom and bathroom. The staff were on call 24/7 and nothing was a problem or an issue. Everything was impeccable. I would highly recommend this villa and service to anyone who is looking for your own little sanctuary.
10/10Absolutely stunning jungle paradise with immaculate grounds. A resort experience with the safety and freedom of your own house. Staff are attentive and accomodating, ready to look after your every need. They cooked an amazing breakfast for 4 families and provided everything we asked for, cooked to perfection. Located close to some fantastic restaurants for breakfast lunch and dinner within walking distance or short cab ride. Plenty of attractions nearby to keep the kids amused! Absolutely perfect, luxurious family holiday.

Nearby restaurants are great so very easy to eat out, with a selection of Indonesian and Western food available. Motorbikes everywhere deliver food easily to the villa. Cute boutique stores, supermarkets and spa options all in a short walking distance. Extremely enjoyable holiday.

Tout le monde a adoré, petits et grands ont apprécié, le salon immense, les chambres spacieuses, la superbe piscine et surtout le merveilleux jardin. Tous les membres de l'équipe sont absolument charmants et très attentionnés et nous les remercions chaleureusement. Dans le proche secteur de la villa nous avons apprécié les restaurants suivants : M'y Warung situé juste en face, Thé sauvage kitchen, et La Finca.

9.8/10Stayed in a group of twelve combining The two Desa Roros. Despite the impact on service of our pre-Nyepi stay (suggest avoiding by a couple of days if you expect full staffing) our stay was exceptional. Komang the manager’s cooking skills were matched only by her hospitality and grace; All the staff made us welcome immediately and coped well with the overflow from Desa Roro Dua at the main villa- such is the space in and around the property. The 3 pavilions that make up the complex are spacious, clean and beautifully decorated- true Balinese style in park like private grounds. And all within easy distance of the best that Canggu and Seminyak have to offer. A five star stay!
8.2/10The villa and the staff are stunning. Late dinner at My Warung in front of the villa is very convenient. Dinner at the villa was perfectly organized and very tasty. Staff is great. The master bedroom is very noisy at night with the road just nearby, that is to me the only downside for this beautiful villa.
