Villa Avalon II

There were 5 of us that shared this 2 bedroom villa for 6 nights, 2 adults and an 8 year old (we took the room with the king bed, I would say this was the master bedroom), and my in-laws had the other room with the queen sized bed. The rooms were fabulous, tastefully decorated, ample space, great air-conditioning. The beds (quite firm) and pillows were comfortable. The dining area is completely outdoors. This was great to enjoy the ambiance of the garden and pool, but watch out for mosquitos (staff always brought mosquito coils for the area, but the mozzies were still about).The pool is about 5 ft deep all throughout and absolutely lovely. Not big, but enough for a group of our size. The staff at the villa were all super helpful and would go to any lengths to prepare food, arrange activities, call a taxi and make suggestions of what to do in Bali . Meals can be cooked on site, but advanced notice needs to be given (at the very least 2 hours or more). You are charged for groceries + 15% service charge of the grocery bill plus a set fee per meal cooked for the chef. For us it was reasonable and we ate at the villa quite a lot. The food was delicious. The location of the villa is potentially great as the beach is just behind, but it is undergoing huge construction now and the beach was inaccessible. The pathway leading up to the villa is not well paved (couldn't walk down this while it was raining, lots of potholes and parts of it flooded) and the road right outside has no pathway so it was a little precarious to walk to the shops as cars and bikes are whizzing right by you. However, taxis are easily available and the villa is 10 minutes away from Petitenget shops and restaurants, and just 5 minutes away from Finn's beach club. We had a lovely stay at this villa. It was perfect and peaceful and we thank the staff especially Dina and Ari for their warmth and care throughout our stay.
