According to TripAdvisor’s Travelers Choice Island Awards, Bali ranks #7 in the world. This Indonesian paradise island has welcomed more than 3.7 million foreign tourists <\/b>in 2014 <\/b>but this has taken a toll on Bali’s environmental situation<\/strong>. The circumstances <\/strong>have worsened throughout the years with mass tourism development, a fast growing economy and population and lack of public infrastructure.\u00a0Bali’s environmental issues is a race against time\u00a0 and time is running out.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Villa-Bali.com is aware of the negative impact of mass tourism on Bali\u2019s environment and culture, and\u00a0 we want to be part of the change and be proactive. We\u00a0<\/span>care about Bali’s environmental issues<\/strong> and we pledge to implement <\/span>eco-friendly\u00a0<\/strong>behaviours<\/b> among our villas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Based on an extensive research about environmental issues in Bali, we have come up with a\u00a0white paper<\/a> and embarked on\u00a0the GECO project<\/strong> to\u00a0facilitate this green\u00a0transition. So, what is GECO project?<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

1. A no plastic policy<\/span><\/h4>\n

Indonesia<\/b>, China, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam contribute\u00a0<\/span>more than half of the oceans\u2019 plastic.\u00a0Plastic is a real epidemic with an average of 10 million plastic bags<\/b> distributed everyday in Bali<\/b>.
