Bali to host Asia Pacific Hash event for first time

Come one, come all my runner friends (and walkers too)!

From May 9 to 11, Bali’s rice paddies, river gorges and rainforest will be the proud host of the “Wonderful Adventure Indonesia Asia Pacific Hash 2014”.

During this non-competitive sporting event, more than 2,000 participants (locals, expats and tourists alike) will have the chance to run or walk in groups along trails through Denpasar, Badung, Gianyar, Tabanan and Klungkung.

More than just a fun way to get in your daily steps, those involved will have the opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty of these regions as well as interact with local communities along the way.  Trails will be made up of short, medium and long distances.

What is “hashing” you say? “Hashing” is an eccentric combination of running, socializing, party going and scavenger hunting all wrapped up into one. Definitely a unique way to meet new people and see the sights of Bali!

Though this special event has already registered its maximum 2,000 participants, the Asia Pacific Hash group is offering separate tours and packages around Bali and elsewhere for those seeking other kinds of adventures, such as rafting, sea walking, cruises, and more.

In addition, there exist smaller organizations in Bali that gather to do similar hash runs on a weekly basis. Check out the Bali Hash House Harriers (Bali HHH) for more details and scheduling information.

Happy Hashing all!
