Villa 1880 fuses traditional and contemporary elements seamlessly and it features a bunk-bedded kids bedroom for up to 8(!) children. The center of the villa comprises a restored colonial plantation house descendent from Kalimantan aging back to 1880, hence the villa's name. The villa not only features a large garden with a long salt-water lap pool, a rooftop terrace, multiple living spaces and a professional kitchen, it also boasts a private spa, an office and a TV lounge room. The spacious master bedroom is surrounded by green wooden panel windows, overlooking giant tropical leaves that grow in the open-air bathroom. Two of the guest bedrooms are similar to the master suite, furnished with king-size beds, satellite televisions, white wardrobe closets and adjoined by a private en-suite bathroom. One of these rooms is interconnected to the bunk-bedded kids bedrooms, complete with a TV, toys and books, accommodating up to 8 children. The kid’s bathroom comes with a bathtub and washbasins to fit the height of children. The last bedroom is tucked in the attic, creating a cozy place to retreat to at night. The room is furnished with AC, a king-size bed, satellite television and an in-room bathroom with a shower cabin and separate toilet.
The sunny, peaceful garden of villa 1880 features a long salt-water swimming pool fringed by tropical greenery and at the end, there is a shaded kiddies pool where they can safely splash around under supervision. The pool is tiled with natural stones and on the timber deck, there are stylish yellow reclining chairs for those wanting to sunbathe. The breezy terrace is decorated tastefully with flowering plants growing out of giant pots and there is a large sofa to sit all together with the whole family.
Villa 1880 features a tropical open-plan living room dressed in white and enriched by vintage artifacts and furnishings. There is a comfy lounge corner featuring a stylish yellow sofa and the teak dining table is illuminated by an abundance of designers lamps that cascade down from the ceiling on separate yellow strings. On the first floor, guests will be delighted to find a spacious air-conditioned TV lounge, featuring a plush red sofa, a vintage radio and a huge flat-screen TV for family movie evenings. The welcoming team of staff consists of the friendly villa manager Johan, 2 butlers, 1 chef and two night security guards.
Villa 1880 is located in a quiet gang (gang Daksina), just off of the happening Batu Belig Street, featuring famous cafés and restaurants such as Watercress, Métis and Sardine. Batu Belig beach, where you can watch sunset at Mozaic or the bohemian La Laguna beach club, is in walking distance from the villa. A short 5 minute drive brings you to the heart of fashionable and trendy Seminyak and it takes around 10 minutes to drive to Canggu Club where you are in for an amazing day of family fun at their water park, bowling alley, tennis court, trampoline center and more
We stayed for a week at Villa1880 and had a great time. The house was perfect for our large family group, with good communal areas to share dinner, with enough space for privacy when needed. The main highlight though were the staff. Manager Gede, staff Putu and Wydia and chef Adi really made out stay something else. Aside from excellent service, they were also genuinely friendly and helpful. I'd recommend this place in a heartbeat to anyone looking for luxury accommodation while also being a bit closer to the Bali experience than what you might get in a resort.
We stayed at Villa 1880 as we were seeking a large villa for our extended family of 8 adults and 6 children. The building is really beautiful (check out its history!) and complete with interesting works of art. Great pool. Great in-house meals. The location is about a one minute walk down a side lane to the busy shopping street of Batu Belig with its restaurants, shops and bars. A ten minute walk to the beach and all the fun of beach bars and warungs. By arrangement, one day we visited the Jimbaran fish markets with the chef, and had an afternoon cooking lesson and then beautiful bar-b-q on the deck. The area is in a beautiful part of Bali away from the bustle of Kuta and Seminyak. Finally, - absolutely awesome staff, to Gede, Ali and their team, huge thanks.
Villa 1880 is in a perfect location on a quiet street yet walking distance to the heart of Seminyak. I stayed in the Villa for a long weekend with a group of friends and we had an excellent experience. The Villa is incredibly well designed and has a great layout for big groups. I especially enjoyed the comfort of the covered outdoor living space around the pool. Was a perfect place to relax and to take cover from the heat! The large dining table is also gorgeous and with the outdoor speakers you will be all set for fabulously fun meals with your group!
