Thank you for your interest in our villas. We look forward to speaking with you!
The Malabar House is a vacation compound made up of about three villas that illustrate two architectural epochs – traditional Balinese as well as turn-of-the-century 1900s. Interiors are appointed with predominantly rustic and elegant furnishings with touches of classic luxury. While, for utmost convenience, amenities are unmistakably of hotel and resort quality. Truly, your stay at the Malabar House gives you an in-depth understanding of genteel and refined countryside Balinese living.
The villa has four bedrooms. Two of these are master bedrooms that form both wings of the main villa. These bedrooms have canopied and draped king-sized beds and dedicated bathrooms with semi-open rain showers. Both bedrooms open out to a covered terrace and to the garden. Two other guest bedrooms are on the ground floor of the two-storey villa. These bedrooms have queen-sized beds and dedicated bathrooms. Both bedrooms have direct access to the garden.
At one end of the property’s tiered garden of well-maintained lawn and ponds is the 14-meter swimming pool. From almost anywhere you may be in the compound, you can, on a whim, jump into its welcoming, glassy waters for some mindless, stream-of-consciousness wading, or some splashy fun and games. Out of the water, you can laze on cushioned pool beds partially covered by a large umbrella on the poolside wooden deck.
There are two living areas – both housed in separate villas. One of these living areas is in the main villa. While the other living area is on the airy, spacious, semi-open, high-ceilinged second floor of the compound’s two-storey villa that also has a scenic balcony that goes all the way around. At any of these living areas, you can all converge for lively conversation. Also in the main villa – occupying about half the space – is the indoor dining area with its long, solid wood dining table for 10. Here, you can all savor authentic local specialties – as well as Western staples – meticulously put together by the resident chef at the fully-equipped, modern kitchen. Out on the garden, in another separate, semi-open, spacious and high-ceilinged villa is the alfresco dining area where, especially on breezy evenings, you can throw barbecue parties that can spill over to the poolside wooden deck. Both the main villa and the two-storey villa also have fully-furnished, covered terraces where you can spend some me time.
Assigned to attend to the daily services of the villa is a staff headed by a manager backed by a housekeeper, a pool attendant, a gardener and 24-hour security. Aside from the chef, a babysitter, a driver, a laundry helper and a spa therapist may, upon your request, be called in. Their services, however, will be charged separately. Bike and car rentals are also available.
The Malabar House is in Keliki – a village of artists and painters – within the town of Ubud – Bali’s cultural center. From the villa, venture out to the Goa Gajah Elephant Cave, the Puri Saren Royal Palace, the Blanco Renaissance Museum, the Agung Rai Museum Of Art and the Setia Darma House Of Masks. On separate occasions, you can also wander off to the Ubud Monkey Forest, the Tegallalang Rice Terraces, the Campuhan Ridge Walk, the Bali Bird And Reptile Park and the Tegenungan Waterfall.
