Leha-leha is the Javanese word for peace, day-dreaming, relaxing, being empty-minded while lying prostrate and gazing at the sky! This beautiful word sums up the experience of staying in this meticulously well maintained 4-bedroom property complete with swimming pool, two master bedrooms with private plunge pools and a two-storey living pavilion boasting sea views of the the coastal village of Sanur. It’s the perfect place for two families holidaying together as well as for groups of friends or one extended family.
Flanking the living pavilion to either side are four double bedrooms independently housed in their own thatched pavilions, with the two master suites at either end of the swimming pool directly overlooking the verdant valley. Each bedroom comes with a queen-size four-poster bed and a flat screen TV, DVD player and music system. En-suite bathrooms feature tubs, twin washbasins and both an indoor and outdoor shower in lush private courtyard gardens. The two master bedrooms come with their own private terraces to the front with lounge seating and sunken plunge pools.
Enveloped by the the jungle-clad valley, the oval shaped swimming pool, with its tantalizing azure waters, is the perfect antidote to a hot and steamy day. Umbrellas, at one end of the pool, offer shade to the sun loungers, while on the other side is a sunken pool bar that holds great potential for sociable, fun-filled times.
To assist you in your empty-minded prostrations are a plethora of deeply cushioned lounging spots. Located at the heart of the villa is a two-storey living pavilion that magically rises above a fish-filled pond encircling the building on three sides. On the threshold of this pavilion is the air-conditioned dining room and open kitchen. Leha Leha’s wooden table seats up to eight guests comfortably. From the dining room, a pair of Palimanan stone stairways lead to the downstairs open-sided living room encircled by fish ponds and a timber deck. This breezy pavilion is furnished with sofas, lazy chairs, lamps and a coffee table atop shiny marble floors, plus a cabinet that conceals a 42-inch flat-screen satellite TV with DVD player and Bose sound system as well as an extensive collection of videos, books and games. The gentle whirr of a ceiling fan helps keep the area cool and blinds can be dropped for privacy. The upstairs lounge is accessed from the dining room via a stone staircase. Under a soaring thatched roof, this spacious open-sided lounge, with teak wood floors, is the perfect place to enjoy views of the garden and the river valley extending to the ocean while sitting comfortably in one of the wide opium daybeds. Glass doors lead into an air conditioned study where a teak desk, topped with a computer, gazes beyond the lounge through a floor-to-ceiling cathedral window. A collection of books and magazines fill shelves whilst a side door leads onto a rooftop terrace.
Long-standing staff will welcome you like family, extending the heartfelt hospitality that the Balinese are famous for. A housekeeper, cook and a driver are able to assist in making any special requests come true.
Serenely situated on the side of a vertiginous valley above the sacred Ayung River, Leha Leha is a place to relax and daydream to your heart’s content. The property’s peaceful position is hidden from view by a protective curtain of verdant greenery offering an outlook more reminiscent of a tropical rainforest canopy than a river valley just inland from the coastal village of Sanur. The atmosphere is laidback and rural with Sindhu beach and the sleepy village of Sanur less than a ten minute drive down the road. The airport, shops and restaurants of Seminyak and cultural town of Ubud can all be reached within a 30 minute drive.
10/10Two Families with 6 kids we stayed at Villa Leha Leha in June 2016, after a 4 hour flight delay we were welcomed at the airport by Hadak and his brother who got us safely back to the Villa. Fia and the team had drinks waiting for us, due to our delay we were starving so Fia arranged an amazing takeout and things just got better and better from there. The villa is simply amazing, with 4 separate smaller villas off the main house there is plenty of privacy if you wish, its perfect for several couples or two families like ours or even 3 smaller families. The staff are friendly and so helpful, nothing is too much trouble, breakfast was prepared for the kids before we even opened our eyes! Hadak drove us around the Island and picked us up when we were ready. The food Sre made was superb, we really had the best holiday, we relaxed, ate, drank and chilled in the most beautiful environment with hands of staff to help us with any request we had. I would have no issues recommending this villa to anyone. We've already booked our next trip back!
10/10We stayed at Villa Leha Leha with another couple and the experience was just out of this world. The Villa itself it located in a quiet area of Sanur, but any areas is easily reachable in a few minuted by car. Here a big thank you to Hadak who is tour guide, driver, security guard and caretaker of the amazing garden in one person! Actually you don't need to leave the villa at all as Sri and her team is taking care of your culinary needs. A big thank you to Sri as well - food was always authentic, yummy and plenty! All in all we could not have wished for a better experience and this was definitely not the last time we have seen this place! Already looking forward to our next trip!
