Villa Kalua is part of a 3 villa complex called Bali Ethnic Villa. The villa is linked to its sister villas, Villa Ka and Villa Kayu by a small secret passage that can be used to link the three villas together if guests should wish to book the entire complex. The Blue Karma Resort makes use of an ethnic theme with great attention paid to furnishing the villas in a truly traditional way. The villas are set in Umalas, a short 10 minute drive away from trendy Seminyak. Villa Kalua, the four bedroom villa, is the the smallest villa on the complex and it features a large tropical garden surrounded by traditional Javanese Joglo houses, completely crafted from antique teak wood. The ambience is certainly perfect for you to relax and enjoy the sweet tropical life on the island of the Gods.
Tucked away in a private Joglo, near to the rice fields, the master suite enjoys full privacy and intimacy. The full-length glass doors open up to a veranda overlooking the pool. Inside, the room is fully air-conditioned, fitted with a king-size bed on a teak wood plateau, elegantly and romantically draped in white curtains. The room is decorated beautifully with a leather zebra carpet, custom hand-carved furniture and tasteful artwork. There is a walk-in dressing-room equipped with a safe and a mini fridge for your convenience. The en-suite bathroom exceeds all expectations, featuring a large private plunge pool surrounded by greenery and guarded by a Buddha sculpture. There are two river rock washbasins, there is a luxurious rain shower and a separate toilet.
Villa Kalua houses 3 more opulent bedrooms. Two of these bedrooms are tucked in private stand-alone Joglo pavilions with verandas overlooking the pool and the last bedroom is located inside one of the main Joglo houses. All three bedrooms feature AC, king-size beds and rustic teak interiors. The private Joglo bedrooms feature walk-in dressing-rooms equipped with mini fridges and safety boxes and luxurious semi open-air en-suite bathrooms with rain-showers and outdoor bathtubs. The third bedroom features a sitting corner, a safe and an enclosed private en-suite bathroom with a glass rooftop to keep the outdoor feel. Full bathroom amenities are provided in every bedroom suite, including kimonos, bath slippers, soap and shampoo.
A teak wooden gate guarded by traditional hand-crafted wooden statues leads into villa Kalua, where you will be thrilled to see such a paradise of a garden, spacious, lush green and beautiful. This slice of heaven is for your usage only, like a hidden oasis revealed just to you and your loved ones. A bridge over a koi fish-pond leads into a big teak wooden Joglo that overlooks the rice field that lies at the back of the estate as well as the stunning 20-meter free-form swimming pool. The garden features manicured lawns, all kinds of tropical greenery and colourful flowers. Around the pool, there are luxurious intricately-carved teak wooden double day-beds for suntanning and relaxing in the shade of a traditional Balinese parasol. The Joglo's scattered around in the garden add to the ethnic and traditional feel of this amazing luxury villa in Umalas, Bali.
The first Joglo is a spacious open-plan structure furnished with comfy sofas to lounge on, leaning back with something to read or simply gazing at the magnificent view of the garden and rice paddies. To the right of this Joglo, sits yet another big open-plan Joglo, housing the villa’s dining area and the fully equipped, state-of-the-art kitchen. Both of these rustic teak wooden pavilions feature high soaring rooftops, teak timber floors and exotic, ethnic interior designs, exuding sophistication throughout. The final touch is given with a decor or traditional tribal artefacts and ornately carved decorative pieces, paintings of tribal faces, designers lamps, and oriental rugs. The dining room features a large glass-topped table resting on hand-carved tribal wooden statues, accompanied by circular rattan chairs. In the evening, the dining area is illuminated by hand-beaten copper lamps. The kitchen is super spacious and more than well equipped. They even have a wine refrigerator. There is no TV found anywhere is the tropical holiday estate, it’s all about getting back to nature and spending undisturbed quality time with your family.
The warm hospitality of the staff will make each stay a very pleasant one. Any special requests for an in-villa massage or for a chef to come and whip up a special meal, is easily arranged by the staff who will make an extra mile to full-fill all of your wishes.
Villa Kalua is found at the end of a quiet lane in peaceful and quiet Umalas, just outside of the centre of Seminyak and a short drive from the beaches of Canggu. Villa Kalua is part of Bali Ethnic Villas, a villa complex that is part of Blue Karma Resort. The estate is surrounded by rice paddies and quiet lanes, away from traffic and noise. A perfectly tranquil area with some nice cafes and restaurants nearby such as Monsieur Spoon and Nook.
10/10Loved this villa. The view, magnificent, the staff welcoming, the villa comfortable and very well maintained.. Comfy beds, large double showers, view of the pool and jungle from the bedrooms. Danyu and Komang cooked dinner for us each night; traditional and home style, We loved this and was delicious. I will definitely be back and would recommend a stay.
