Villa Kalua is part of a 3 villa complex called The Blue Karma Resort. The villa is linked to its sister villas, Villa Ka and Villa Kayu by a small secret passage that can be used to link the three villas together if guests should wish to book the entire complex. The Blue Karma Resort makes use of an ethnic theme with great attention paid to furnishing the villas in a truly traditional way. The villas are set in Umalas, a short 10 minute drive away from trendy Seminyak. Villa Kalua, the three bedroom villa, is the the smallest villa on the complex and it features a large tropical garden surrounded by traditional Javanese Joglo houses, completely crafted from antique teak wood. The ambience is certainly perfect for you to relax and enjoy the sweet tropical life on the island of the Gods.
Tucked away in a private Joglo, near to the rice field, this villa suite enjoys full privacy and intimacy. The full length glass doors open up to a veranda and inside this air-conditioned, king-bedded room is decorated with a leather zebra carpet, wooden hand-carved furniture and tasteful artwork. There is a walk-in dressing-room equipped with a safe and a mini-bar for your convenience. The en-suite bathroom beats all expectations, boasting a large plunge pool, like a private tranquil oasis, surrounded by greenery and guarded by a Buddha sculpture.
The two guest bedrooms are also tucked in stand-alone Joglo's. Both Joglo's come with veranda's, king-size beds, walk-in dressing-rooms with mini-bars and luxurious semi open-air en-suite bathrooms with rain-showers and outdoor bathtubs. A teak wooden gate guarded by traditional hand-crafted wooden statues leads into villa Kalua, where you will be thrilled to see such as gorgeous and spacious private garden for your usage only, like a hidden paradise revealed to you and your loved ones. A bridge over a koi fish-pond leads into the villa's lobby, a Joglo that looks out onto the rice field that lies at the back of the estate as well as the stunning free-form swimming pool and the manicured lawn of the garden, surrounded by lush tropical greenery and colourful flowers. Around the pool there are luxurious double day-beds for sun-tanning and relaxing in the shade of a traditional Balinese parasol. The Joglo's scattered around in the garden add to the ethnic and traditional feel of this amazing luxury villa.
The first pavilion you enter is the lobby, a spacious open-plan Joglo and to the right lies the living pavilion, also tucked in a traditional Joglo. Joglo's are traditional Javanese houses, crafted from ancient teak wood and characterized by their high-vaulted rooftops supported by ornamented wooden pillars. The living and dining spaces exudes a rich oriental vibe with all of its gorgeous antiques, chandeliers, rugs and vivid hues of royal purple and red as well as full length curtains and ornately carved decorative pieces.
