Villa Cocogroove is much like a piece of heirloom jewelry – traditional, rare and priceless. The series of Bales connected by walkways and by water running throughout the sprawling property are like gems set on an ornate and stunning necklace. Built with indigenous materials on what used to be expansive rice fields, the villa, a rich showcase of Balinese culture and heritage, is an ideal place for holidays and vacations which you’ll surely treasure for always.
The Master Bedroom is furnished with traditionally-inspired yet stylish and functional appointments. Upon entering, you will be drawn to the floor-to-ceiling shelves decorated with native art and crafts. The bedroom opens to its very own semi-open bathroom with a floor-level “sunken” bathtub. Here, the zen design philosophy recurs. Interiors combine stone and wood accentuated with plants and trees. In this kind of atmosphere, bathing becomes an indulgence you’ll always look forward to.
The villa has two other bedrooms. Both are furnished with luxurious yet basic essentials. The interior decoration is quite sparse. Although in this minimalist simplicity lies its elegance. Each bedroom also opens to semi-open, zen-themed bathroom.

Wherever you may be in the villa, you can simply walk out to the wide and well-kept lawn and to the long rectangular Poolpartially shaded by a grove of coconut trees. After a relaxing dip or a few laps, you can lie under the shade of the detached Bale nearby. Or, you can take a few steps to the Pool Beds for some sunbathing. Running across the back of the villa is a long Fishpond directly accessible from the living areas and the master bedroom.
A distinct feature of the villa’s Living Area is a square-shaped, floor-level or “sunken” seating area. Here, you can all gather and engage in more focused interactions. From here, you need not disperse for meals since the Dining Area is close by. The interiors are quite minimal in adherence to a zen design philosophy. The area is likewise airy. It’s open enough to let in the cool breeze yet ingeniously protected from the pouring rain. The Dining Area leads to a spacious and fully-equipped kitchen where the resident chef can impress you with his culinary skills as he, freely and unimpeded, dishes out full-course meals. You can also spend time at the Study satisfying your curiosity about local history and its way of life. On its walls hang tools and, even, weapons. Within the villa, the Study is a cultural attraction in itself.
In addition to your personal chef, Villa Cocogroove’s staff includes villa attendants, a technician, a gardener, pool attendants and security personnel.
Villa Cocogrove is located in the very popular locality of Seminyak. This is where the foodie finds are – at the Oberoi District’s Eat Street – in restaurants ranging from casual to fine dining. The shopping finds are also here. Whether these are souvenirs or fashionable impulse buys. The hip, must-see and must-be-seen-in beach cafes and clubs are here too. Where you can find a cozy and comfortable spot to just simply sit and chill the entire day – and the entire night for that matter – away.
10/10Stayed at Villa Cocogroove with two other couples. The villa is beautiful and spacious and tranquil. The pool is fantastic, bigger than appears in the website photos. The staff were helpful and discreet. In-house massages were great & convenient. Transport arranged by villa as requested. Villa in moderate walking distance to shops and restaurants. While I don't have anything to compare and I would like to try another villa for the purpose of comparison and another awesomely luxurious experience I would definitely stay at Cocogroove again!
