All the rooms are furnished with queen-sized beds and come with large en-suite bathrooms fitted with stone baths.
As if on a raised platform overlooking the neighbouring regions of Canggu, Bale Tokek Villa is located in an idyllic setting. In the middle of tropical plants and trees, lies the L-shaped swimming pool which connects to both the living and dining area. The intelligent architecture maximises your experience of both comforts. There is a traditional Bale on an elevated section right over the swimming pool, with a large daybed that can be shut out from the rest of the world, through the curtains. This makes for an ideal spot for some relaxation as well as an afternoon nap! A number of sun loungers are placed accompanying the pool, where you can lounge after a rejuvenating swim.
Through the pool deck, one reaches the main living pavilion through glass doors. The spacious and expansive room is well-furnished with plush, comfy couches and chairs, all placed facing a flat-screen TV. There is traditional Balinese artwork and artefacts all around the room, enhancing the beauty and aesthetics of the space. Connected to the living area is a small section which houses a desk and a comfy office chair, where you can catch up on some writing if you like! There is a staircase in the middle of the room, which leads to the upper floor.
The dining area as connected to the swimming pool, and the two meet where one begins and one ends. There is a large dining table in the middle of the room, where you can enjoy the view along with your delicious food. A fully-equipped kitchen is also accessible fitted with modern amenities. The main living area and dining area are mainly wooden structured with wood furniture, however there are bursts of colour here and there exalting the sublime beauty of Bale Tokek Villa
The staff at Bale Tokek is friendly and accommodating, willing to help you out with anything you require. You can opt for the breakfast option at the villa, which will entail a lavish spread each morning! The staff can help you arrange for transportation if you wish to drive around Canggu.
Echo Beach is in the vicinity and can be reached in 5-10 minutes, if you are keen on renting out scooters. The surrounding rice fields are a great way to pass your time, if you are looking for a relaxing and learning experience as it will teach you a lot of Balinese culture and heritage.
We stayed at The Bale Tokek for 12 nights in early October 2014, being regular visitors to Bali and staying in the more populated areas we decided to venture further north for this holiday. Our stay at The Villa Tokek was fantastic, the presentation of the villa and its private open setting are definitely its biggest assets. The staff were very friendly and were always keen to help us with anything. The Villa Tokek is quite remote and you will need to organise a driver if you’d like to venture out. If you plan on eating in I’d recommend making a quick stop at the local Pepito and stocking up on some items as although take away options are available, the quality and taste may have suffered on the trip to your door. We took up the breakfast option most days, it wasn’t the best breakfast that we have had but my advice is to communicate to the staff what you would like and they will accommodate. We purchased some New Zealand butter and Vegemite etc. and it made a big difference to the taste of the bread. The travel time between the villa and locations south of Seminyak may deter some people, however if you are more interested in a private relaxing holiday rather than waking to the sound of scooters then The Villa Tokek is worth putting on your short list. The team at Bali Individual Villas were extremely helpful with our booking and ensuring that we were satisfied throughout our stay.
