Villa Lalang is a cluster of about four pavilions constructed by the edge of a cliff high above Balian Beach. A representation of the contemporary tropic chic genre, the villa’s interiors are appointed with splendidly crafted wood furnishings finely finished with complementary warm hues and tones. Amenities are of hotel and resort grade – insuring absolute delight and fun. With its scenic vantage point, Villa Lalang extends to you a truly refreshing and peaceful stay only an oceanfront environment can give.
The villa has four bedrooms with framed glass doors, large windows or floor-to-ceiling glass walls. All bedrooms have canopied and draped queen-sized beds as well as dedicated bathrooms with both indoor and outdoor rain showers. Two of these bathrooms, in addition, also have large bathtubs.
At the end of the property’s sprawling garden is the 12-meter infinity pool. As you wade around unmindfully along the pool’s vertical portion, the glassy waters create an illusion that you are out at sea. Linger by the pool’s horizontal portion for a spectacular view of the vast seascape. Up on the lawn – by the pool – you can lounge on cushioned, wooden pool beds under the palm trees. But once it gets quite hot, seek the shade of the nearby bale where, on the soft day bed, you can doze off – lulled by the calming sound of waves coming ashore.
On the airy, semi-open and high-ceilinged second level of the main pavilion is the living area. On its long, cushioned, wooden benches, you can all gather and mingle. In this main pavilion are two dining areas – one, with a long wooden table good for eight, is also on the second level. The other, with a round stone-top table good for five, is on the ground level. At any of these dining areas, you can all indulge in authentic Balinese specialties – as well as foreign fare – freshly cooked by the onsite chef at the fully-equipped, modern kitchen next to the ground level dining area. By the kitchen is a counter which can also serve as a bar. Provided with stools, this is another spot where you can all get together for cocktails and after-dinner drinks. Around the villa are indoor and terrace sitting areas where you can just crash comfortably to spend some precious me time.
On duty to deliver the villa’s day-to-day services is a staff made up of a personal guest assistant and a pool attendant as well as housekeepers, gardeners and security personnel. In addition to the chef, a babysitter, a driver, a laundry helper and a spa therapist may be called in upon your request. However, their services come with a separate charge. Bike, scooter, car and boat rentals are also available.
Villa Lalang is based in Balian Beach which, for a time, was Bali’s best-kept surfing secret. Aside from riding one of Bali’s famous multiple surf breaks, you can, on another occasion, comb the long stretch of pristine, squid-ink, black-sand beach as well as dare to see the Soka Bat Temple. On your next day trip out of the villa, you can watch a local mekepung or bull race, followed by an agro-tour of the Lumbung Berkat Dragon Fruit – or pitaya – Gardens.
10/10Villa Lalang is absolutely amazing! Situated on a very quiet location. A part of undiscovered Bali. With a couple of nice restaurants on walking distance. The villa itself is beautiful with comfortable rooms and a great staff!! They prepare excellent food and they make sure there's no lack of anything. Very kind and helpful! Worth every bit of money. My family and I had a stay we will never forget!
