Villa Monkey is a two-storey vacation residence that features weathered wood as the recurring design element. Carefully infused into this predominant theme are ornate interiors which add on an old-fashioned charm. In contrast, however, are amusing and delightful décor that contribute a contemporary touch. Taken altogether, such details create for the villa an ambience and character that is laid-back yet urban in comfort, nostalgic yet stylishly in vogue. Villa Monkey, truly, may, perhaps, be described as – in a word – timeless.
The villa has three bedrooms. The master bedroom is on the ground floor. It has a queen-sized bed and a dedicated bathroom. Another bedroom is also on the ground floor. It has, as well, a queen-sized bed. The third bedroom takes up the entire second floor. It has a queen-sized bed and two single beds.

Occupying the property’s entire outdoor area is the 10-meter swimming pool. Plunge into its beckoning, glassy waters for a relaxing dip, unmindful wading or playful splashing. Out of the water, you can opt to lazily lounge on the wide, cushioned pool beds partially shaded by umbrellas, on the canopied day bed, or on the large bean bags under the trees.
On one side of the villa’s breezy and spacious semi-open ground floor is theliving area. On the large and long couch oriented towards a widescreen TV, you can all converge for the highly-anticipated new episode of the latest blockbuster series. Or, to experience – for the nth time – the most memorable moments of your all-time favorite movie. At the middle of the ground floor is the dining area with a wooden table that can seat eight. Here, you can all get a taste of authentic local cuisine – as well as personal comfort food and favorites – freshly cooked by the in-house chef at the fully-equipped kitchen section just behind the dining table.
In charge of carrying out the villa’s services is a staff consisting of a personal guest assistant, a gardener, housekeepers and security personnel. Aside from the chef, a babysitter, a driver, a laundry helper, a pool attendant and a spa therapist, may, upon your request, be called in. Their services, however, will be charged separately. A boat, a car, a scooter as well as bicycles are also available for rent.
Villa Monkey is located within the Oberoi District of Seminyak – the center of tourism in Bali – along a side street that leads to much-talked-about Eat Street. This foodie strip is lined with casual to fine-dining restaurants. Notable among these are La Lucciola and Mamasan. Wander on and you’ll find fashion boutiques, novelty shops and souvenir stores. All roads lead to Double Six Beach where you can cool off at one of the cozy cafes. Stay until the night pulsates to life. Then explore the must-see and must-be-seen-in bars and clubs such as Ku De Ta.
